This is certainly worth hunting down. The tea factory visit is not that great but the location and scenery is the best on the island. And when you drive up the mountain to the lake and the restaurant you will find somewhere pretty unique.

The restaurant has huge panoramic windows giving a great view over much of the South of Mauritius. It's clean and well presented and pretty full when we ate there.

Some of the food looked a little expensive on the menu but we went for very reasonably priced curries - one fish and one octopus. Both quite delicate, served with rices, a dal and tomato salad. Real quality and for 375 rupees each.

Probably the best value food that we have enjoyed on the island.

Beautiful spot for a restaurant with panoramic views. Fresh warm bread, butter and tapanade were a lovely start to the meal (one of the best we were served during our 10 day stay) and iced tea cocktail was good (it's on a tea farm)! Main meals were ok - I'd avoid the steak (the flavour was good but the quality of the meat was not great and it was originally served rare when I requested medium). The boscaiola pasta also was served as a tomato based sauce so we think something got lost in translation. Complimentary shots of vanilla rum were lovely.

During our Mauritius holiday, we enjoyed lunch at several restaurants on the island and whilst not our favourite. this was a nice place to eat. The menu is varied and the service very good. At the end of the meal we were given some Vanilla Rum which was some of the best that we were offered during our whole trip.

The view and drive is really nice, but stay away from the restaurant! We had two chicken currys and the meat was really bad. The sauce was nice, but after every bite we had to grab some pieces out of our mouths. Afterwards we did not want to try the tea tastings (tea bags) and wanted our money from the entry fees back (100 MUR per person, either used in the Resaturant or for the tasting). The waiter was got pissed and we left. In general the atmosphere was not verz good. But it was rainig...
Also the restaurant looked really unfriendly and was extremely loud.
If you go to Bois Cherie, do the Museum and stay away from the rest!
