If you are of Northern European heritage then this place is a must to get that culture hit. Even if you are as Aussie as they come you will amazed at the variety and quality of the breads (Brot) and sausage meats (Wurst) sold and the warm Euro style service. All the meats and breads are made on the premises and of the highest quality.

I once met an older German couple on the airport shuttle. They told me they have been coming for years to Sydney's Northern Beaches to spend time in our warm summer months. I asked them if they had shopped at Brot & Wurst and if so what they thought of the breads and sausage sold. Their response, "At least as good as in Germany."

Now if only the owner would open a full service restaurant.....how about it?

Best place to buy German small-goods, bread, etc in all of Sydney. The cafe is also great for breakfast or linch - the authentic German hot-dogs are great. Good coffee as well.
The Deli is well stocked with all things German - mustard's, chocolates etc. In the Deli get fresh made pretzels, bread, pastries, and a huge array of Garman style meats - Gypsy Ham, Kaiser Fleisch (Bacon - freshly cut to order); sausages etc.
We also ordered the Xmas ham here - it was excellent and lasted for weeks (probably would have lasted longer but it was all eaten).
