“Great pub and lovely food”
Reviewed 11 April 2013

We live two minutes up the road in Stokenchurch and often like to visit the Crown at Radnage for food and drinks.

The burgers, as mentioned by someone else, are brilliant homemade burgers with great handcut style chips so it's normally my first choice! Sunday Roast is also excellent, particularly the gravy for some reason. The owner, John, clearly takes pride in his food.

They've got a good selection of well looked after local draught beer too with Rebellion always on tap.

Massive garden so good for a meal out in the summer too.

We're yet to try the rooms - living in Stokenchurch we have no valid reason to stay there!

Overall we would highly recommend for both locals and visitors to the area.

“Country pub and old fashioned service”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

A nice location in the countryside with a great beer garden at the back and plenty of parking. Good selection of ales and ciders all brought to you with a smile from the staff or the owner John.

They do their level best to cater to any requirements and the restaurant whilst small is well done. Food is generally excellent although there have been a couple of blips that have needed a quick word - all dealt with amiably and quickly. The burgers are excellent and home made (so kids expecting McDonalds will be sadly disappointed), the pate is great and there are often specials that show this isn't just a fry-it-and-serve-it cook - there's a passionate and capable chef.

Portions are not enormous but are enough for 95% of the population, the beer nuts, pork scratchings and other offerings that are home made (including some very nice scotch eggs) are really good and there are benches at the front which get the sun.

A good place to stop if you want a peaceful traditional pub with beer, a garden and some food. Getting home afterwards needs a pre booked taxi as it is out in the countryside.

Staying overnight in the newly built rooms I haven't done but there have been plenty of people coming into the bar from them with an overriding thumbs up look and the breakfasts look wonderful.

“Great place to stay”
Reviewed 5 April 2013

We headed off to the chilterns for a few days break and had found this little place on the Internet, so pleased we did, Ideal for exploring the chilterns. The accommodation was brilliant, set back behind the pub 4 purpose built rooms all done out to a high standard, everything you need, coffee machine, kettle, iron and board, fridge, fresh milk and bottled water, underfloor heating , walk in wet room, room safe and a big comfy bed. Breakfast in the morning was anything you could ask for and the evening meals were first class, all homemade. My partner enjoyed trying the selection of ales on offer and the fresh crackling on the bar. Don't forget to take some fresh eggs home, on sale in the pub.

“Hidden Gem serving great Pub food”
Reviewed 1 April 2013

Nestled in a picturesque Chiltern village, The Crown at Radnage is a family friendly pub with a large garden, restaurant area and accommodation.

Nice menu with a good specials board, would definitely recommend the beer batter fish & chips
best to phone in advance and book a table as it can get booked up very quickly especially at weekends and bank holidays

Fantastic place to see the magnificent Red Kite and guests and visitors can find out more on things to do in and around the Chilterns on the Visit Chilterns website.

The Crown is conveniently situated less than five minutes from Junction 5 of the M40, close to High Wycombe, Marlow and Thame. Less than 40 minutes from London and 20 minutes from Oxford, The Crown at Radnage offers a great base for those looking to explore the rolling Chiltern Hills.
