“Delicious high quality food in a great country pub setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2014

We were so glad we decided to stop and have lunch here. All the food was outstanding.

As an olive lover the home marinaded olives were as tasty as any I have eaten and combined with the peppered cashews they made a great nibbles to whet our appetite.

Our main course of local sourced pork rack was cooked to juicy perfection and was complimented by a tangy rich, dark mustard sauce. The accompanying colcannon was mouth watering.

For pudding we chose the Chocolate and Rebellion Ale cake which was rich and firm without being at all cloying. Absolutely delicious with cream.

We have to say all the other dishes looked just as appetising as they came out from the kitchen.

Excellent friendly service topped off our wonderful meal.

“Lovely meal in friendly Village Pub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

Visiting family in the area we enjoyed a lovely 2 course evening meal from the Specials menu. Pork and Fish dishes were beautifully cooked (not overcooked) & the homemade burger was delicious. Only a small dining area indoors, very casual setting but you can eat outside too (roadside tables). Friendly Landlord & the new Chef (Nick) is expanding the menu offer. Tasty locally based dessert menu - I recommend & will return next time we visit.

“Real home cooked pub food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2014 via mobile

We went for Sunday lunch. Had traditional roast beef dinner and it was the real thing. As a roast dinner should be. Beef Yorkshire rosaries gravy horseradish and cauliflower cheese. All homemade and served as requested, one well done, one medium. Good choice of starters and excellent desserts - recommend the Mocha panna cotta. Staff were friendly with prompt service but more importantly, genuine.

“Great pub and lovely food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2013

We live two minutes up the road in Stokenchurch and often like to visit the Crown at Radnage for food and drinks.

The burgers, as mentioned by someone else, are brilliant homemade burgers with great handcut style chips so it's normally my first choice! Sunday Roast is also excellent, particularly the gravy for some reason. The owner, John, clearly takes pride in his food.

They've got a good selection of well looked after local draught beer too with Rebellion always on tap.

Massive garden so good for a meal out in the summer too.

We're yet to try the rooms - living in Stokenchurch we have no valid reason to stay there!

Overall we would highly recommend for both locals and visitors to the area.

“Country pub and old fashioned service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2013

A nice location in the countryside with a great beer garden at the back and plenty of parking. Good selection of ales and ciders all brought to you with a smile from the staff or the owner John.

They do their level best to cater to any requirements and the restaurant whilst small is well done. Food is generally excellent although there have been a couple of blips that have needed a quick word - all dealt with amiably and quickly. The burgers are excellent and home made (so kids expecting McDonalds will be sadly disappointed), the pate is great and there are often specials that show this isn't just a fry-it-and-serve-it cook - there's a passionate and capable chef.

Portions are not enormous but are enough for 95% of the population, the beer nuts, pork scratchings and other offerings that are home made (including some very nice scotch eggs) are really good and there are benches at the front which get the sun.

A good place to stop if you want a peaceful traditional pub with beer, a garden and some food. Getting home afterwards needs a pre booked taxi as it is out in the countryside.

Staying overnight in the newly built rooms I haven't done but there have been plenty of people coming into the bar from them with an overriding thumbs up look and the breakfasts look wonderful.
