Naypyidaw is a strange, Truman Show sort of place, and this hotel fits with that vibe. The reception area is off angle, modern but not. Funny mix of bungalows and two story buildings , a sort of mini perfect village on an artificial golf green, lake - trees carefully tended by a small army of peasants in the 104 degree sunny haze. Room was standard and spacious, though a colleague said he was bitten by a bug on his neck during the night. Internet wifi didnt work. A trek to the breakfast/dining building unless you call a golf buggy to carry you back and forth. Breakfast offered a variety of noodles, as well as standard western fare and nice fruit. Was pleasant to sit outside for early breakfast before hot sun beams lit the tables.

Great wifi, decent rooms (i got the basic ones) that even came with a small couch. Bathroom was alright. However, there is still no pool or gym - you can see the half-built pool on the riverside; since no construction was ongoing, it's probably not going to happen for a long while. They fumigate the place every evening, but the mosquitoes were still unbelievable. Only one restaurant on site, food was serviceable. The hotel was resort style and very spread out, so you need a buggy to get around.

Stayed here for work and while the rooms were lovely and the staff friendly and efficient, the hotel was otherwise disappointing on several counts:
1) No pool or gym, which is surprising given the high room charges. Both are (apparently) under construction, as are some other buildings, but this means that some rooms look out on a building site.
2) Disappointing breakfasts and generally bland food - even supposedly Thai dishes had almost no spice in them and my Tom Yum Soup tasted like a bowl of hot water with some fish and veg thrown in, but no flavour. It's difficult to go anywhere else at night, so after a day or two the limitations of the restaurant really sink in.
3) As mentioned by others, uncomfortable bulky pillows
4) Variable wi-fi, though it was usually possible to send and receive email from somewhere in the room.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms looking out on the building site!

I have stayed in several hotels in Naypyitaw but Thingaha hotel is the best. My bungalow #403 was so conveniently located just opposite the dining hall, and a short walking distance from the reception building. Even if you need to go to the reception building or ballroom a buggy is always available on call. Everything in my bungalow was spick and span, the air-conditioner and water heater worked and there were no mosquitoes too at night as each evening around 6:30pm.the housekeeping staff will fumigate the rooms in the bungalow. The staff would also turn on the lights so that the steps are lighted and you don't go back to a dark room. I would certainly choose Thingaha the next time I visit Naypyitaw.

After a day of business meetings, the Thingaha is a great hotel to come back to and relax. Most of the rooms are like standalone villas, very spacious and comfortable. Internet works well most of the time. Considering that not all western foods are available in Myanmar the breakfast is not too bad, as long as your expectations are not high. The hotel is well located in the hotel zone and the price is reasonable for Myanmar. The reception staff are extremely friendly, and I recall the first time that I stayed here over my birthday in late 2012; they noticed my birthday from my passport, and left a large chocolate birthday cake in my room. That was a very kind gesture and sums up why I really enjoy staying here.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms overlooking the lake are my favourite

Very nice place with cooperative staff. Food is good. The rooms near the lake are very nice. Nice place to relax after work as the hotel is spread over a large area. One suggestion: Hope they start a fitness center soon.
