The room on the first floor was large, quite clean, and the bed was comfortable for sleeping in. The TV and a/c are too small for the room, and the internet is unreliable for the usual Nay Pyi Taw standard. The restaurant was poor and room service took very long.

Three of us arrived in Naypyiday, having booked in for 5 days as we were unable to get into our usual 2 star Junction Hotel. Reception Staff were very slow, friendly but untrained.

Rooms (101, 103 & 105) were large but very poorly finished - could not close curtains properly or shut windows. Two of three rooms had no hot water, bathroom fittings were not properly connected and some electrical wiring in bathrooms was exposed!

Breakfast was just OK.

At $70 per night this was very bad value.

We voted with our feet and checked out early next morning.

This is a 3 star hotel in a developing country. So it is important to bear that in mind when evaluating the hotel. However, even with a proper benchmark, this hotel has some significant challenges. For example, four of the women at my table had giant holes in their bathroom ceilings. Mine was patched with what looked like scotch tape. The cleanliness of the rooms also left much to be desired--dust and dirt in and on cabinets, carpets not well vacuumed, etc. The building is quite new, but already looks like it is decades old and run down. The furniture in my room was broken and badly scratched. Internet is extremely patchy. The dining room serves adequate food, but it is served on filthy tablecloths that have not been changed, as near as I could tell, at least in the 2 nights that I stayed here. If you want to leave this hotel and go anywhere else, it is a struggle. At the moment, there is really nothing nearby. The mall is "a 20 minute walk away," but I would estimate it is at least 2 km down a fairly dusty road on rather treacherous sidewalks. The staff can call a taxi, but it takes time for one to come. WIth nearly 40 different hotels that appear to be under construction in the hotel sector nearby, this hotel may struggle to compete in the future.

I stayed in this hotel for 5 night recently, when I attended a regional meeting. With the understanding the new capital city is still under development, I have a lower expectation of the hotel before I arrived there.

The building and furnishing work looked sloppy- the door handles are loose and I could see that the door wasn't aligned properly when it is closed. The standard rooms looked big but I think they could improved by adding more pieces of furnitures and decoration.
Though the hotel is already operating, there are still ongoing construction so the hotel can get very dusty. There were also lots of mosquitoes and I was brutally bitten even when I was in the enclosed meeting room on the 6th floor.

I think the hotel occupancy wasn't high most of the time and our group of close to 40 might be a big one for them. We encountered blackout twice during our early part of our stay, but the hotel staffs are quick to rectify that. The internet service was intermittent, though the hotel staffs tried their best to increase the wifi network.

The food is not too bad though quite limited. Anyway, there is still choices outside the hotel - a Thai and a Chinese restaurants 5 minutes walk from the hotel; and some smaller eateries at Junction and Capital hyermart 25 minutes walk away. It is a good idea to carry a torch light or flash light when going out at night as certain part of the road were pitch dark

Despite the not so comfortable stay, the staffs there tried their best to accommodate our requests. I agreed to AsiaPlaza that the hotel staffs are their best asset, they are always friendly, anxious to please and efficient. Like the rest of the city, they are still in progress of building up, so I look forward to see new improvement in this hotel in near future.

Location: apparently the closest hotel to the ministries.

This hotel sits on a very large property, with a lake and the rooms spread around in bungalows. Rooms are spacious, with a balcony that overlooks the lake. Wi-fi works well in the rooms and the lobby, which is a big plus in NPT. The staff is very kind and the management pay attention to cleaning and maintenence of the rooms.

The real asset of the hotel is its staff. They are friendly, efficient, anxious to please and are extremely knowledgeable in attending to queries. If they do not know they will find out for you.

During our stay at the hotel it seems that the hotel guests were mainly business people - some from foreign embassies and others from foreign companies. There seemed to be very few tourists present but that is understandable given that Nay Pyi Taw is the centre of government and is yet to be recognised as a tourist destination.
