“Lovely cottage in quiet village .”
Reviewed 26 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We are just back from a long ( but really too short ) weekend at Walter's Cottage , Wysall . The booking process was quick and easy , the owner quickly replied to any questions , and the directions took us right to the door .
The cottage is compact , the second bedroom , as the owners described , only really suited to either a single adult or 2 young children , but our 2 boys , 7 and 10 loved it . The cottage is clean , comfortable , with a modern bathroom and kitchen . Special mention must be given to the very comfortable beds , I had my best ever sleep on holiday!
The owners live next door , it was very thoughtful of them to provide tea , coffee and milk for the first cuppa after a long journey , and they very helpful with any questions we had . The owners also have 2 friendly Cairn Terriers , Gilbert and Evie , and some chickens and horses , our boys loved to spend time with the locals!
Wysall village is quite small , and very quiet , and little through traffic , there aren't any shops , but 5 to 10 minutes driving will take you to some of the surrounding towns , such as Keyworth , and 30 minutes will take you to Nottingham or Leicester .
One really special feature in Wysall village is the wonderful pub , The Plough . We had lovely afternoon drinks here on the Saturday , and Sunday Lunch . The locals and staff were ever so friendly , and we had a delightful meal .
We had a wonderful 3 nights at Walter's Cottage , it was really excellent value for money ,the owners ( and their animals ) are delightful , and we are really looking forwards to our next stay , hopefully for longer , and to explore the lovely Nottinghamshire area .

“Good Quality Accommodation. Friendly Owners”
Reviewed 19 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

The cottage was quiet, clean, comfortable and well equipped (although tea drinkers might want to take their own tea cosy). The cooker, hob, microwave washing machine were good quality and unlike in some properties, did their job well. The WiFi was strong enough to stream effectively. The heating was very effective when used. The owners were very friendly and helpful and their pets engaging and friendly. The location was ideal for visiting the Great Central Railway at Loughboro, The Bosworth battlefield and Richard III centre and tomb in Leicester plus the myriad of country houses and other historical sites that abound locally.
The only minor negative point both of us had was the bed, which although large and comfortable, which was great, but VERY low down and might create issues for those with back problems.

“A GEM OF A COTTAGE”
Reviewed 13 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Everything in this cottage has been tastefully decorated and is extremely clean. Plus there is everything and more that you need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to go back. A huge thank you to Debbie & her husband and to the Edith the very friendly dog. The village is beautiful and and easy to get to Nottingham.

Lovely cottage, very cosy and warm. We were not able to access the Internet and my mobile service was rubbish but that didn't spoil our holiday. Several pubs nearby for lovely evening meals.

Sorry about our awful internet and phone signal. We're not on high speed broadband yet in the village and you'll sometimes find us standing in the field waving our mobile phones around trying to get a signal! Some day soon we hope to join the 21st century. Hope it didn't spoil your weekend. Best wishes Debbi

“Little Haven”
Reviewed 27 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Just got back from a weekend away. The property was easy to find, and impeccably clean. Spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. Good value for money. We struggled to find somewhere relatively local to eat dinner any earlier than 6pm. The cottage was cosy but at times too warm as we couldn't control the storage heaters. Still a lovely weekend away. Thanks!

We're sorry you found the cottage a bit too warm and hope it didn't spoil your stay. As the heating is storage heaters we have to predict the weather to some extent which is always difficult. We prefer to leave it warmer than colder for guests as they can always open the windows. (Not very ecological we realise but the best solution!)

“Lovely and very good layout.”

Extremely clean, very well furnished and super warm. Good easy access and amazing horses living next door. Super nice people who reacted very nicely to last minute needs on arrival. We will definitely go back again.
