Lovely cottage in a nice quiet area, had a few hickups in the begining but they were quickly sorted by owner. Toilet locks would be useful!
The Piggery was ideally based for visiting National Trust Properties in and around Somerset. The cottage was warm, clean, well furnished and equipped and in a very quiet location. The fresh flowers both inside the cottage and on the doorstep was a lovely touch as was the bottle of wine !
We wanted to visit Stourhead and other NT and English Heritage sites in the area and this was a perfect location for all of them. The Piggery is larger than you think and very comfortable with all amenities, a bathroom and a separate shower room both with loo's. Set back from the road with plenty of parking. Sofa's and the bed were very comfortable and heating by electric convector and night storage were very good in the evening and again in the morning. Only one thing my wife observed were the number of spiders webs in the property, but this is the countryside. Very pleasant stay and thoroughly enjoyed.
The Piggery offers great accommodation and is well laid out, the beds were lovely and comfortable. We will definitely stay again next time we visit Somerset.
We stayed for my sons 18th birthday and found the location a great base for all the attractions in Somerset including Portsmouth Naval Base.
Just spent a week at the Piggery it was lovely and relaxing everything that you could need. Had a problem working the oven (instructions would be helpful) Short walk to local pub. Super quiet and very peaceful. Would highly recommend. Didnt realise there was no wi-fi which caused a little stress but other wise a great get away
A well equipped house with all you could need and more. Gorgeous setting in the peaceful countryside. Every thing was spotlessly clean and tidy. We had a lovely stay at the Piggery.
Lots of great things about the piggery. Usuefull to have room to park to cars. Comfy beds and good walk in shower. We were blessed by great weather and found the site very quiet and peacefully. The living room us a great size, but on a down side one of the sofas in my opinion was unusable. It's had boards placed under the cushions and it was like sitting on a ridged dining room chair. We managed to only use the addition chair and 2 seater sofa. But with a group of 4 we would have struggled. Also if you had wanted outside spaces to sit or possibly BBQ then you'd have to walk around the building to the front. I also found that having the freezer in the garage was a pain for ice for our drinks. That said the owners were helofull and we did generally really enjoy the house. If they changed the sofa I would go back.
We also agreed that better direction for finding the site would have been useful. We arrived in two groups and both struggled.
