“Rare charm”
Reviewed 25 September 2013

Keith and Bridget have a rare ability to make every guest feel completely at home. We chose Spiller's to be close to River Cottage. My husband and I were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and the Day Experience was one of our treats. (It was fantastic). We hadn't expected the quality of hospitality we found at Spiller's, we stayed two nights which should have been a week. Having met the piglets we settled into our beautifully comfortable room (with ensuite and rural views) before launching off to explore the area with Keith's excellent directions. Apart from River Cottage, there is much to enjoy in the area, we loved Lyme Regis and could have spent days exploring the Jurassic Coast. Breakfast at Spiller's will keep you going for most of the day, with home-produced meat cooked in the aga and delicious home-made jams ,all enjoyed under the watchful eye of a picture-book cat. So if you like to feel warmly welcomed in a beautiful area, by a couple who are wholeheartedly committed to offering the very best quality B&B, go to Spiller's - it is a happy place.

We are very happy to recommend Spillers Farm B&B to anyone wanting great accommodation close to River Cottage HQ.

Thank you Keith and Bridget for a very warm welcome, excellent breakfast and sharing your piece of paradise. And a special mention to Keith for the mini tour of the farm animals - we hope all 11 piglets are happy and healthy!

Hope to visit again in Summer/Autumn 2015.

Regards Ron and Carol Tanner - Canberra, Australia

We spent 2 nights at Spillers Farm whilst attending a River Cottage event on Saturday evening.
It is a great B&B. The hosts are both lovely. Very kind, friendly and accomodating.
The grounds are great with lots of farm animals, all of which Keith the host is very happy to introduce you to if you so wish, and answer any questions you may have. Very friendly and well-behaved dog, cat and sheep make this the place for animal lovers.
The highlight of the stay had to be the 3 day old piglets. So cute.
If you are going to River Cottage (or even if you aren't) we would definitely recommend staying at Spillers Farm. A great experience.

We left spillers this morning after spending a fantastic 2 nights in cassie's cottage.

Where to start, the cottage it's self is a fantastic base equip with everything you could possibly need. A light and airy space that is made cosy by the wood burning stove.

Seeing Bridgette and Keith was like catching up with old friends! Warm and welcoming as ever and breakfast never disappoints!

We were really sad to leave :0(
Already trying to think of some dates that we can book to go back!!

We would highly recommend a stay at Spillers Farm. From start to finish the owners Bridget and Keith made us feel very welcome. They would go out of their way to help and advise us. The location itself is set in within stunning views of the surrounding Devon countryside. We were happy to take a bottle of wine and sit by the lake in the evening with the ducks and the lovely Merryck to keep us company. The facilities were clean and more than adequate for our needs. I certainly agree with previous reviews in that the breakfasts are top draw and made even tastier knowing that they are made from high quality home produce and by people who share our passion for organic, ethically raised animals.

An excellent location in terms of reaching River cottage and the surrounding towns and attractions. We are very much looking forwards to our next stay!

A superb b+b in a idyllic location staffed by the nicest couple you could hope to meet, plus a breakfast to die for... The owner makes his own rhubarb + ginger preserve - quite the best I have ever tasted. He also makes his own sausages - if you think you even good sausages hold on to that thought until you have been to Spillers Farm! Cinvenient for visits to River Cottage but don't expect to get a better meal there! Devon at its best!!

We stayed at Spillers Farm for 4 nights, iAugust, to include a trip to River Cottage, in Axminster, on the 18th. Bridget and Keith made us very welcome, as did Merryck the lovely retriever and Sila the gorgeous black and white cat. We met the sheep and Marlene the pig and all the chickens, too! There was plenty of space in the room with double aspect windows with glorious views over the farm and surrounding countryside. There was a beautiful posy of sweet peas to welcome us in the room, and thoughtful extras like proper mugs and glasses, in addition to extra toiletries in the en suite, which was also a good size. And the breakfasts were amazing - their own sausages, bacon, eggs and tomatoes. Delicious! We took days out to the Seaton Tramway, Sidmouth and Lyme Regis, which were fun. We were very lucky with the weather, as well, which did help! The whole stay was truly wonderful.
