“Suddenly 'no dogs's!”

Lower Bruckland Farm Nature Reserve
Reviewed 17 July 2013

We have regularly enjoyed the lovely walks around the ponds with our dog for many years, finishing up with a coffee and maybe a bacon sandwich at the excellent Lakeside Cafe. For some obscure reason, dogs have now been banned from the reserve! Regretfully, we shall not be returning.

This nature reserve is such a hidden gem! Peaceful, beautiful and full of lots of suprises. An awful lot of wildlife to be seen. We saw a moorhen nest complete with eggs. The swans have nested on an island in the lake. Fish throwing themselves out of the water to catch the gnats!
I wouldn't advise it for anyone not prepared to be quiet and enjoy the wildlife and the atmosphere, but if you want peace and quiet with a beautiful view then this is the place to go!

Happened upon a hidden gem. Not sure I should write about this in a public forum as I'd quite like to keep it quiet myself...bringing friends and family back. Great place to take some photos of the flora and fauna.

Although we didn't go into this Reserve, we had a very good view from the gate and the surrounding lanes. There seemed to be a good taste of simple wildlife and it is nice for quiet walks. They have a small cafe here with nice places to sit. Don't expect a big play area this is for quieter people as far as I could see.
