Spent a weekend in this beautiful little B&B complete with stunning surroundings. Jo (our host) was lovely, making us feel very welcome and was very helpful. The room was lovely and immaculately clean. All of this was topped off with a delicious English breakfast before leaving.

(the photo attached was our view from the rear of the farmhouse).

Set in a beautiful location and a great starting point for walks. The host was informative and efficient. Breakfast was good with a choice of full English and/or Continental. Our room and the premises were very clean. Room 2 is very small for a double room and although the period piece room door looks nice, it doesn’t do much for privacy. The cost is rather high for what is offered and given the choice we will not return.

This beautiful Guesthouse is just behind Catbells a little way past Portinscale. It is exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. The breakfast is amazing and made to order. Swinside Inn is just opposite, which can be booked by the guesthouse, giving you 10% off the meals. We would definitely go again.

We booked in for a two night stay in Room 2, which we found to be rather small for a double room. There was no double glazing in the room, and the wind was very strong and kept us awake. The breakfast was delicious and there is an,excellent pub just down the road, which cooks enormous meals. Thought the price of the room was high considering the size of the room.

Room Tip: Room two is much to small and crammed with furniture

We stayed for just one night on our way to Scotland but found the accommodations to be very tidy and neat, with a delicious breakfast. Jo was very friendly and helpful, offering driving directions and information on the area. The pub across the street was just right for weary travelers after a long day of driving. Our brief stay was very enjoyable and the surrounding countryside was gorgeous!
