First of all, I must apologize to all those people who wrote negative reviews amongst an abundance of praises at Tripadvisor. I used to look at them as being unrealistically demanding. How can a store be bad if you are the only person who complains while all the others seem to be so happy about it. Right? Wrong.
On 18 October, coming out from the Basilica of Santa Croce, we decided to have some gelato, as we did everyday we were in Italy. We saw the Tripadvisor sticker at the entrance so we went inside without any second thought. We noticed that the selections were very limited but that was fine with us. The "Nice Owner" mentioned by other reviewers was nowhere to be found. Instead, we were met by a plain rude person who did not want to answer any question about different flavours. At the end he refused to accept €20 bill. When we sat down outside, we were swarmed by mosquitoes. If you have no intention to ruin your day, go elsewhere. There are plenty of places selling extremely delizioso gelato just a short walk away around Piazza della Signoria and the Duomo; and the people there do it with a smile.
