“Fantastic B&B, would never stay anywhere else in St Andrews”
Reviewed 6 May 2012

I was in St Andrews for a wedding and stayed here for two nights with a friend and it was tremendous. Moira, Richard (and Annie the retriever!) could not have been more welcoming, helpful or friendly. It felt like staying with your favourite relatives in a lovely, clean, comfortable room with an excellent sized en suite with power shower. Really couldn't have stayed anywhere better and it's only a five minute drive from the city centre.

Moira Burns, the hostess of this B & B, is in the right business. She is open and caring and takes obvious delight in getting to know new people. The rooms are simply furnished, but scrupulously clean -- as are the bathrooms. Our wonderful breakfast was cooked to order with the usual side bar of yogurt, muesli and other cereals, etc. The beds were rather too firm for us, but everything else was perfect -- right down to the wonderful tea tray in the room with a delightful assortment of beverages and home-made shortbread. But beyond the usual features one expects from a good B & B, Moira's kindness and warmth is, as we say in America, "worth the price of admission!" She is the sort of person one wishes to befriend for life :^).

Moira and Richard were extremely welcoming and lovely people. I booked this B&B over the internet as we were attending a wedding local to the area, so did not know what to expect, but we were very very happy with our stay.
The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was fantastic and even a vegetarian was accommodated. Even leaving my suit behind wasn't a problem as it was posted down to me within a few days!!!!
Recommended.

What a smashing couple who run this B&B , they made us so welcome . A great breakfast and the B& B was lovely and clean . We would like to thank Richard for picking us from the St Andrews that evening after a long tiring walk along the Fife Coastal Path , and of course dropping us back the following morning to start out final leg of the walk . It is a great place to stay not only for walkers but also anyone visiting St Andrews

My friend and I were travelling to St Andrews for a spa day at the Old Course Hotel and dinner and theatre in the evening. My friend is recently bereaved and this was a trip to give her a relaxing break. I was referred to Moira through the St Andrews Bed and Breakfast association. She was so friendly, helpful and understanding that I had no hesitation in booking with her.
The bed and breakfast is a couple of miles outside St Andrews but as long as you have a car this is no problem. The house, garden and rooms are immaculate. Our room had a wide range of drink options, including Highland Spring bottled water all accompanied by a jar of Moira’s scrumptious homemade shortbread. Moira has thought of absolutely every detail of what a guest might need to make their stay easy and enjoyable. She and her husband were charming and delightful hosts and they told us that they will soon have a golden Labrador puppy to liven things up!
Our breakfast in the conservatory at a shared table with the occupant of the other letting room was wonderful. We selected from a great range of choices the previous evening. My friend is vegetarian and Moira offered an appropriate and delicious selection to meet her needs. Extra toast and tea were on offer until we couldn’t eat any more!
We both agreed unreservedly that we will book with Scotscraig again. The other guest was on her third visit so Moira obviously provides a consistently high standard of service.
I would recommend Scotscraig Bed and Breakfast to anyone who wants a high standard of accommodation at a very reasonable price.
