We stayed with our little boy one night with plans to visit a cave. I didn't expect such a gem with the price and being so close to the bank holiday. Such a warm welcome and they helped us with all our questions. The room was beautiful, clean and the shower was fabulous. It even had a charger/player for my iphone. But the best part was breakfast. A cute room set up with so many sweet options I didn't want to leave. The homemade jam (from a local farmer) was amazing and all of the choices were fresh and wonderful. They obviously care about the important things and it really did feel like I was staying with a family. The old-fashioned games in the breakfast room were a big hit with my little boy. We ended up at our cave a lot later than planned! Would highly recommend this place. And the town was filled with very nice people as we struggled to figure out how to trick-or-treat on Halloween :)

We were booked into this hotel as part of a self guided walk and enjoyed it enormously. Do not be put off by the outside as the rooms are comfortable and quiet. Our hosts were a lovely couple, very helpful, thoughtful and outstanding cooks. breakfast was fresh, plentiful, varied and delicious, especially the homemade jam and of course the croissants, baguettes, pastries...
Dinner however was stunning. The best pate de foie gras and tarte tartin I have tasted just to single out 2 of several dishes. Totally recommend this for a stay in lovely Montignac.

We stayed here overnight when we visiting Lascaux II. The family are clearly trying to update an older style hotel and have successfully modernised the appearance of the rooms. Our standard room (no. 2) was on the front of the hotel, though we didn't experience excessive road noise. The room and linens were good and the bed very comfortable. We were on the demi-pension rate (29 euros) which was very good value. Dinner was very good, though my wife's profiteroles were a little strange. Buffet breakfast was good with a (rather too) extensive range of sweet cakes and biscuits. A very good place to stay when visiting the cave, with very pleasant owners and good quality cooking.

Friendly and welcoming family. Will do anything to help. They anticipated our every need. The room was large, comfortable and clean, and had been tastefully renovated. The breakfast choice was excellent, and as for the evening meals ... They were as pretty as fine dining, but much larger, and absolutely delicious! There is so much to do in the area, and the hotel was so good, that we decided to extend out stay. The choice on the a la carte menu is excellent and the entrée and the plat du jour change daily. Apart from out first two nights, we chose these, and did not eat the same meal twice, although we stayed for two weeks! What a lovely family. We would definitely recommend a stay here whether you are old or young, have children, or none. Jean and Laurens will provide everything you need and make sure you have a wonderful holiday.

Room Tip: We had a superior room, but understand, from other guests that all the rooms were good.

We stayed here 1 evening while visiting Lacaux II. The hosts were extremily accomodating and anxious to make sure everything was OK for us. English was very good, room was excellent. Room was recently redecorated with new fixtures. Bathroom was great with a fabulous shower. Plenty of hot water, towels, etc. Tea on arrival. Even had BBC World on the TV. Only downside (and this was my fault) we left the windows open (no AC) and the lights on when we went to dinner and flying gnats galore came in the room. Be sure and shut the windows (no screens) and turn the lights off when leaving the room. Parking was great behind the hotel and off the street. No noise. Price was good for our budget. All in all a great place, very accomodating, nice staff (I think they were the owners). Certainly would stay there again when in the area.

Room Tip: We had room 3.

We stayed here two nights during a bike trip across the region and it was the best place we stayed. The owners provide warm and attentive service, the room was newly decorated with great attention to every detail. We ate dinner there the first night because we were tired but ate there again the second night because the food was so delicious and beautifully presented. The breakfast was also outstanding, exceeding that of all the other hotels. And its a convenient short walk to the center of town.

This was our base for our first four days of visiting sites in the Dordogne. Jean and Laurence were very friendly, even when our baby turned their nice dining room into a rather noiser affair with her enthusiasm. We ate dinner in the hotel dining room three of our four nights because it was excellent quality, it was convenient, and they were gracious. Breakfasts are standard meat, yogurt, and bread and cheese, but greater variety than some places we have stayed, many of which just opted for bread. They provided a high chair in the dining room and brought a new toy to distract our seven-month-old each day. The room was nicely decorated and a good size, fitting the baby bed and ours with room to maneuver. Jean acquired us tickets to Lacaux II and an English tour with the greatest of ease, starting our cave explorations with real convenience. Additionally, they loaned us a guidebook in English for the area. In short, it was a hotel with a feel of a bed and breakfast. We would happily return again if we visit as a small family, particularly given the playground, which makes the hotel great for families with children who need to get the wiggles out in between excursions. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!
