My daughter and I spent three glorious days with Jon, Alison, and Ruby in June. The weather was perfect, as were the accommodations and our hosts. The meals (breakfasts and dinners) equaled those of any five-star restaurant and dinners were served complete with wine and dessert. Jon prepared detailed maps for our daily biking excursions and recommended stops along the way where we could visit historical sites or enjoy nice lunches. After our bike rides and lovely dinners, we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and pool. My daughter and I shared experiences and adventures in Loire Valley that we shall cherish for the rest of out lives. After Alison dropped us at the train station, I realized that I had left my wedding rings and a necklace in my room. I phoned Alison and was assured they would mail them to me. I received them in the mail today, and I am so very grateful to them. They truly do go out of their way to accommodate their guests! I highly recommend them to all travelers and will definitely try to visit them again!

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, Jon, Allison, Ruby (and Ruby's teddy Mr. Buttons) made us feel extremely welcome. They have really created something special here. regularly going out of their way to make us feel comfortable - an example of which was Allison making a surprise birthday cake for my fiancee (which like all of the food was absolutely fantastic!). The property is gorgeous, the facilities excellent and the surrounding countryside beautiful. Jon, you were very kind to arrange stunning tours for us each day, offering detailed and thorough explanations of local points of interest. This was a particularly special holiday which we will never forget, it was made so much better by our visit to you. Thanks so much for everything, Jason and Lou

A really enjoyable cycling experience in the Loire made special with the outstanding help and loads of advice provided by Jon and Alison. Nothing was too much. Every day the routes chosen gave us a different experience of the surrounding countryside and small towns, chateaus, fruit + veg markets etc. The location was peaceful and the weather perfect. I've already recommended to some of my walking and tennis friends and hope to return at some stage in the future.

The five of us, two adult daughters, one boyfriend and my husband and I, stayed for a week at Le Noyer, the farmhouse adjacent to the proprietors'. We were in the middle of wheat and poppy fields and the weather was beautiful in midsummer. The roads are in great shape and relatively flat. Each day we rode to a castle and visited the picturesque towns along the way. We cooked for ourselves in the well equipped farmhouse and on the barbeque grill outside. Everyone enjoyed the pool after a day of bicycling. Be sure and visit the Troglodyte caves! Alison and Jon were marvelous hosts and guides. We had a wonderful time and want to return soon.

Room Tip: can't go wrong with Jon and Alison

Jon and Alli offer impressive personal service and high quality experience. After a great week of cycling, chateaus, cheese, wine, food and service we were so impressed. The second week at another slightly distant B&B with cycling and support from Jon and Alli went very well and offered even more great cycling, chateaus, cheese, wine, food and service. The two week package of Loire Life Cycle and the place they arranged was just beyond our expectations. So great we are going back for seconds.

We have recently spent 15 weeks in Europe and the highlight was cycling the Loire Valley from our base at Gue de Ray. We are social cyclists and with a little prior training did not have any problems with 30-50km cycles mainly along very quiet roads. Hosts Jon and Alison provided us with options and maps for day trips including back up support. Cycling was such a great way to see and feel the French countryside with its ancient villages, vineyards and countless chateaus. Jon and Alison were magnificent hosts and cooks. The genuine and varied French cuisine, wines and cheeses were a cultural experience and lesson.

Room Tip: They are all good.

Lovely location with excellent hosts. The property is beautifully finished with pretty gardens. The welcome is always friendly and the food is excellent. The pool is great to cool off in on hot summer days.
We use as a centre to explore the wonderful Loire Valley as it is brilliantly situated to visit all the attractions.
We have been visiting Gue de Ray since Jon and Ali first opened and are heading back again in August.
