We felt like we were at home in the quiet setting and enjoyed walking on the back property in the woods. The owners were very friendly, explaining the maple syrup process and "sugarbush" forestry. Prices were reasonable and the breakfasts were fun with their own maple products and farm fruits! The rooms are simple, clean, and very private upstairs rooms. The water is excellent tasting, too, so you can re-fill your travel containers! A good central location to head out and see a variety of places. Probably the best was heading across the cable ferry ($9/car) to Fort Ticonderoga (great town, too!) and then heading north to the next ferry (free, will soon be a bridge) where there's British ruins from a major war. Heading across the ferry got us back to great dairy/farm country!
