Good accommodation right on the trail. Our room was small especially once we got two bags in it and the beds a little hard after 3 days cycling!
Lovely living area with views. The spa pool was very welcome after a day cycling and there was storage for bikes. A nice touch with the freshly cooked apricots for breakfast.

Thank you for your report
We were sorry to hear you found the bed a little hard and you were little short on room. We hoped the wardrobes would be able to take you bags to free up some space .We compensated for smaller room size with larger bathrooms and living areas when the lodge was built.
Safe travels

We highly recommend this lodge. We were a couple and ended up with two other couples and a single also staying. Never met them before. As it happened they were great. That's what the trail is all about. No doubt this is a stylish place. Small en suite doubles. Clean and modern and comfie. Great new kitchen and two lounges, fire, leather suites and amazing views.Lovely breakfast supplied to make as you needed with a special stewed fruit provided by the host. Yum... But you share all that with the other up to 6 guests. Do It! A great way to get the rail trail underway in comfort style and comradery.

Thank you very much for your kind posting.
When we built the lodge, we wanted it to be a great place to meet other like minded travelers while enjoying a little extra comfort. Being avid travelers ourselves, we felt it important to create this type of atmosphere.
We are very glad you enjoyed your stay and wish you safe travels in the future.

Tiger Hill Lodge was a great place to stay at the end of our day of cycling the Otago Rail Trail. The rooms were neat and tidy and the Lodge was very well suited to our group of six cyclists. Beds were comfortable and rooms were bright. It is just literally a stone's throw from the trail. Gwyneth, our hostess made us feel welcome and was very personable. Access to a restaurant was just down the hill in the town of Omakau, a ten minute walk.

Room Tip: Generally, all the rooms seemed fine.

We stayed across the street at Wilson's, part of Tiger Hill Lodge. The building is a home really with a number of en suite bedrooms. The views across the prairies to the mountains were really beautiful. Located about 15 minutes walk from Omakau. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try to spa but it looked wonderful. As noted in previous reviews, Gweynne was a gracious hostess and made sure we had everything we needed, including a wonderful breakfast.

Great location. This must rate as one of the most well appointed lodges on the rail trail, with spa pool and bike lockup. Perfect location.

Southern hospitality at its best, Gweynne was a great host and provided us with heaps of local knowledge and advice.

Short walk to Omakau pub for dinner, which provides a free shuttle service if you require.

Breakfast was more than ample to launch us onto the next leg of out journey.

Stay else where at Omakau at your peril !!

Stayed across the street from Tiger Hill Lodge in what they call Tiger Hill Lodge (Wilsons). Good location next to the rail-trail and a short walk into town. We had a large room with vaulted ceiling and sliding glass doors on to a balcony. They have a large lounge and big kitchen. The landlady, Gwenyth, was very kind and delivered some fresh eggs which we used for our breakfast.

A welcome site on our winter rail trail ride that's right next to the trail. Warm, modern, spotless with large open lounge area (the view was fantastic) and separate tv lounge too. The spa was a great. Laundry facilities are available too. Probably 10 minutes walk into town (The commercial hotel picked us up) The home made stewed apricots for breakfast were delicious!
