Return visit's sometimes are not recommended. HOWEVER, this establishment seems to surpass all its bounds. As it was on our last visit, it remains 3 star as recommended by the ZA tourism authority. This wonderful paradise is most professionally run by host Elaine. Her enthusiasm and pride in her establishment ,makes any stay there the most memorable for any visitor. Now the world cup is over there is the opportunity to grab a break in this gem on the south coast. We came back to celebrate our wedding anaversary and a friend's birthday. We were not wrong in our choice of coming back down to ZA.. Dolphins galore and the odd big splash by a whale or two were one of the highlight 's of our stay.

A great place to base yourself if you need a recharge of batteries... Very useful location for using as a bolthole for visiting Knysna and Grahamstown not forgetting PE itself.

Keep up the good and excellent work Elaine...

Our first and most certainly not our last visit to ZA. It's wonderful!!

We stayed at ZA Tourist Approved 3 star Dolphins View Guest House, Beachview, which is 20 minutes drive from PE centre. This is an ideal location if you are looking for accomodation for the 2010 World Cup, a completely spectacular and very professionally run establishment, with exceptional sea views. This is the place for you, even if you only need somewhere to relax and chill out then this is paradise.
Directly across the road is the ocean with dolphin's aplenty giving a geat show if the sea state is right. Stupendous sunset 's and sunrises if you get up early enough.

Close to Dolphins View is Maitland beach which is 40km long with mountainous sand dunes and the waves and surf there is ideal for wind surfing . Within 10 minutes drive is the Kragga Kamma game park where you can drive round in your own car and see a diverse population of wildlife. Very close to Kragga Kamma is Elephant Walk at Colleen Glen, which is a much booked restaurant serving excellent quisine. Well worth a visit - you need to book early... The Barnacles restaurant is just along the road and they also serve excellent quisine. Kidneys for breakfast are wonderful.

A 90 minutes drive will take you to Shamwari game reserve where the Born Free Foundation is based. Shamwari is a 5 star reserve which is exceptional to say the least. Addo National Elephant park is only minutes away from Shamwari.

The 'Garden Route' - Port Elizabeth is at the eastern end of this national icon of ZA which runs from Cape Town in the west. If you wish to drive from end to end it can be done in around 8-10 hours. But you will miss a lot of exceptional scenery. Better to spend a few days taking in Plettenberg Bay, Knysna, George which all have their own spectacular settings. Knysna Elephant park gives you the opportunity to feed them and get up close to these wonderful animals - The World's highest commercial Bungee jump 213M is on the 'Garden Route' where the Eastern Cape borders the Western Cape. It's spectacular....

We had the good fortune to take a trip to Cape Town by air and the Protea Breakwater Lodge is 3 min walk from the V & A waterfront... The V & A waterfront is exceptional - food - shops - atmosphere and scenery - outstanding.. Take a trip down to the Cape of Good Hope, Camps Bay, Hout Bay, visit Boulder's beach where the colony of Jackass Penguins is situated at Simonstown.
Robben island is a short boat trip to see where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated. Well worth a visit to listen to the ex political prisoner's tell you of the horrors of the place.
If Table mountian is clear of cloud then go up early... if not ,then don't as you mignt not see anything.. Signal Hill is worth the wee drive along to the viewpoint.

We will be back!!
