Let me first say that travel in Leyte is tricky after cyclone Yolanda (local name). A lot of people have been displaced and a lot more are desperate. This is one of the few remaining places to stay in this area. Most are broken, don't have roofing or electricity.
The rating ive given this hotel is value for money. its not 5 star by any means.
The security is excellent - armed guard at the door 24-7 and locked front gates. Rooms are large and clean and the food we ate there was good. Beds firm but comfortable. Great shower and hot water! We didn't get travellers belly. We had 2 nights here, and there is no electricity on the island of Leyte currently. We didn't see (or more importantly hear) a generator but presumably they have one out the back somewhere.
We had air con and lighting, but not any superfluous electrical items. Take food with you to Leyte if you are going in the next few months as it is not easy to get a lot of basics. No wifi yet, but we hear the power is due back on by March. (hmmm....)
Coffee (3 in 1 is approx. 25 pesos - 50c) at the moment.
Staff are friendly but cautious. you have to pay up front for your room and there are loads of rules but for people who treat hotel rooms properly this will not be an issue.
