Love this place so much. Everything is included except food. The river is fabulous from swimming under the bridge, tubing down the river, or just sitting by it and enjoying it. Everyone in Telkwa is super friendly and helpful. There is toys for kids to play with, volleyball, horseshoes, board games, dvds, a wonderful hammock to relax in. We will sure miss this place.
What a amazing house in a amazing location , Rates are comparable to a hotel but its a full house on the river! Girlfriend was amazed :)
We arrived on a Friday evening to a warm and cosy home, it is even better than the photos! Lovingly maintained and full of quaint fisherman detailing and nicely chosen decor. Everything you could want is provided, even board games and musical instruments! We never did figure out how the TV worked (even with ththe instructions we gave up). Wifi was excellent. The bed was really comfortable with a soft pillow top and good quality linens. The views from every window are just gorgeous. We travel from Terrace to Prince George regularly and have not found too many places to stay at that are as well appointed as this cottage. If you were any closer to the river you would be on a houseboat. You will hear the train during the night blasting its horn as it goes through the level crossing on the other side of the river. This did not bother us that much, but if you orefer absolute peace and quiet it may disturb you. We had no hot water on Friday night and contacted Phil who arranged for a contractor to come out the next morning. Although the contractor said it would be up and going by the time we returned from Smithers, alas still no hot water. Phil kept in touch with us and was quick to communicate but there was nothing more that could be done. We left a day earlier than planned and were graciously refunded more than we expected. We are looking forward to a return visit and a hot bath next time. This property showed pet friendly accommodation but check first with Phil. Our girl travelled with us and respected the furniture and the property and we enjoyed walking along to the bridge with her each morning. Tyhee Lake Provinicial Park is just up the road with great walking trails and at this time of the year (the camp ground is closed).
