HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Myself and my husband visited with our 2small children . We were greeted by smiles and a very warm welcome and shown to a table straight away the staff came and ask if we needed high chairs and brought the children colourin books and crayons. the staff couldnt b more helpful even tellin us the children a roast which wasnt on the menu. We got garlic mushrooms follow by roast beef and my husband got the sea bass. The meals are one of the best we have tastes by far and the portions size are brilliant we all left feelin very full to the point we couldnt fit pudding in which isnt like us. Cant wait to go bk and visit soon

Thank Helen C

Four of us went there for an early evening meal yesterday and we were not disappointed by our experience. Three of us had ham, double eggs and chips. You can choose between "proper" chips and French fries. Ham, eggs and chips proved an excellent choice. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the ham was succulent. Even my husband who is known to be picky when it comes to French fries ate every last one. Our remaining friend had steak and ale pie with a big serving of vegetables- she had enjoyed this at a previous visit to the restaurant and the quality was just as good the second time.
As we had been out walking we thought we deserved a treat so we all had pudding. This was the chef's secret recipe and it was served with lots of custard. To say it was delicious would be an understatement! The service was just at the right pace- we didn't feel rushed and neither were we kept waiting. Staff are friendly and helpful. We all felt that we had enjoyed a meal that was also good value for money. We shall definitely go back.

Easter Sunday lunch here. Friendly staff but the meal was mediocre at best. Disappointing and we felt we could have chosen a better venue.

After attending a family get together, we went the the above establishment for lunch. We had eaten there before and it was OK, but this experience was shocking in that the choice of steak pie was disastrous. It arrived and had clearly been cooked in a brick kiln ! The waiter took one look and took it away. After everyone had finished, the two remaining replacement meals arrived and were still practically uneatable. In their defense, they did not charge for these two meals. My point is how did this food get out of the kitchen in the first place.
We will not be visiting again.

I have been driving past this pub since I was a kid, it has always looked inviting and packed. Finally decided to try it out today and I'm glad I did. What a lovely pub/bar/restaurant. Staff are very helpful and friendly. As soon as we walked in we felt welcome. Simple menu with simple pub classics. I had the chicken burger which was lovely, kids had a jacket potato and other half had fish chips. Food was excellent, not the typical processed rubbish you get in large chain pubs. Chicken was tender so tender, and the dish was not dripping in grease. Would recommend this place to anyone. 5 star service all the way.
