The Hotel:
Beautiful from the outside and warm and friendly on the inside, with far reaching views in a typically beautiful lake district setting. The customer service was 100%, friendly and welcoming, and they really wanted to go the extra mile for you.

The Room:
We were in a standard room for 2 people. The room was pleasant, good sized and soft bed, nicely done shower room, big TV and plenty of plugs.

The Restaurant:
Very tastefully fitted restaurant with a conservatory with good views in a nice setting. The service was good and the food was excellent. We had dinner one night and breakfast both mornings and were very happy with everything they served. FYI breakfast is thrown in free with the rooms which is a major plus point!

The Pool:
Lovely pool and very quiet (not 24 hours a day - there is a chart to show you when you can use the pool) had a good swim here on sunday morning.

Overall:
I would definitely recommend the hotel to anybody looking for a good base in this part of the Lake District. You are close enough to a lot to see and will enjoy your stay. We intend to return and perhaps get one of the apartments they offer next time.

From arriving till leaving the staff was wonderful. Very friendly. The room and the food was great. A perfect place for visiting the north of the Lake District. There is a spa and a small swimmingpool. Finding the hotel is easy. With good signs from the A66.

Just got back from a lovely relaxing weekend at this hotel. Very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are very homely an we loved the jacuzzi bath.

We also enjoyed the gym an pool. Would of loved to have stayed longer. Would be even better in the warmer weather when out and about.

Would definitely recommend staying here. Good for couple's and families.

My husband and I have recently stayed for three nights in the Thirlmere room. We were greeted by a very pleasant lady checked in and shown our room which was small but adequate with the most awesome views. We omitted the very nice looking cake and coffee as we'd just walked ten miles up and down a fell and a beer was more inviting !! Food was delicious we ate in every evening, breakfasts were delicious the staff couldn't do enough for you, I would highly recommend this hotel Susan and Alan

We have just returned home from the hotel and feel that our stay at the hotel was one of the best hotel experiences we have had to date. We felt special straight away from the greeting we received from Margaret. Margaret is a very good ambassador for the hotel in all ways. Alistair (owner) was wonderful too, making our experience staying at the hotel most enjoyable. Nicky was very hospitable and friendly advising us on our drinks choices. Our bedroom had the most stunning views and this was further enhanced by the beautiful linen, towels and range of toiletries. We were pleased even more by the hospitality tray. The hotel is well located for seeing the western side of the Lake District. We are definitely planning to return.
