Just what I would expect
They couldn't have done more to make our stay better. Including making sure we were off to our meeting on time.

Breakfast was brilliant and tasted fresh and local. None of your tesco value sausages. Hash browns to die for.

Great food, great service, friendly helpful staff, clean, cosy rooms with gorgeous view (Derwent) Pool and Gymn, Terrific value and wouldn't hesitate in booking a second visit! Must mention the lovely Mags who puts her all into all the jobs she tackles, been a pleasure Mags, thank you.

Room Tip: The Derwent overlooks the outdoor deck and has superb views, especially as the colours change early...

Cannot find any fault with this hotel and it's staff. The ullswater suite was perfect for myself and two friends, offering comfort, space and wonderful views. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The chef, Richard, was more than helpful and happy to add different dishes to his menu to accommodate my vegetarian friend. All in all a very enjoyable stay. Would definitely recommend and certainly return.

An excellent small hotel, great food, decent pool, friendly staff and beautiful setting. We had an apartment which was very comfotable and not a bad price for two adults and a child. Highly reccomended.

Stayed here for 3 nights from the 5th April in Thirlmere, hotel is lovely, really cosy with a very friendly feel about it. The room had great views over the decked patio area & to the peaks at the front of the hotel.
The food was lovely & the staff were really welcoming. Great location! I wouldn't say it was ideal for a spa break as the pool area is very small & unfortunately the steam room & hot tub were both unusable while we were there but would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a lake/Peak District break away & would certainly return myself in the future.

Stayed 3rd/4th April and I was very pleasantly surprised with the standard of my two day break at the Embleton Spa Hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating - Margaret couldn't do enough for us and Ali was very welcoming. We also took our dog and she was also made to feel very welcome!!. We stayed in the Ullswater Apartment which was furnished to a high standard and had wonderful views, there were two bedrooms (the second bedroom was reached by a staircase in the main bedroom - very good if you have children) and a lounge with a kitchen. We used the steam room and the swimming pool which was a bonus after a long day fell walking. We had dinner in the restaurant both nights and the food was varied and locally sourced and very tasty - breakfast was good too. Hadn't been to that part of the Lakes before and it was good for fell walking and not too touristy. Will definitely be back.

The Hotel:
Beautiful from the outside and warm and friendly on the inside, with far reaching views in a typically beautiful lake district setting. The customer service was 100%, friendly and welcoming, and they really wanted to go the extra mile for you.

The Room:
We were in a standard room for 2 people. The room was pleasant, good sized and soft bed, nicely done shower room, big TV and plenty of plugs.

The Restaurant:
Very tastefully fitted restaurant with a conservatory with good views in a nice setting. The service was good and the food was excellent. We had dinner one night and breakfast both mornings and were very happy with everything they served. FYI breakfast is thrown in free with the rooms which is a major plus point!

The Pool:
Lovely pool and very quiet (not 24 hours a day - there is a chart to show you when you can use the pool) had a good swim here on sunday morning.

Overall:
I would definitely recommend the hotel to anybody looking for a good base in this part of the Lake District. You are close enough to a lot to see and will enjoy your stay. We intend to return and perhaps get one of the apartments they offer next time.
