Despite only living 15 minutes away we had never visited the Embleton but had heard lots of positive things about it, which the restaurant didn't fail to live up to. The dining room looks great and the views across to Sale and Ling Fells are of course spectacular. We booked a table for four for a Sunday evening to take our friends for a meal as a finale to a lovely weekend. We had a great table by the window so our guests could see the view and the service was prompt and efficient. The food was excellent, we all had something difficult. One small point .... three of the meals came out together and there was a wait for the fourth .... this may have been as the fourth meal had asked for new potatoes instead of rice and maybe the chef forgot at the last minute, but they were apologetic and the meal nor the evening was spoiled by this small hold-up. The staff, although young, are attentive and efficient and make a conscious effort to ensure you have a good evening. The young chef came out after our main course to make sure we enjoyed our meal and to see if there was anything that could be improved. We had coffee sat on the comfortable leather sofas in the bar area and couldn't really fault the evening. We'll go back for sure. Obviously we can't comment on the accommodation or the spa as we didn't use those facilities. Nice place :o)

My son, puppy and I have just returned from a 3 night break here. It was perfect! Food great especially breakfast (and I never normally say that), service was lovely and we were very well looked after. Loved Mags - we all did! She is a superstar.

Just returned from a few days staying with friends in Skiddaw for our Golden wedding. Found the hotel superb and the service excellent. The accommodation was spacious, spotlessly clean and well equipped - the private outside area was a bonus. We ate in the restaurant twice and were more than happy with the food, and the breakfasts were everything we could have wished. All the staff were extremely friendly and obliging. Really can't fault this place.

We have just returned from a 4 day stay at Embleton Spa and would recommend it highly for a relaxed, welcoming and excellent service from staff! The breakfast was plentiful, hot and of good quality. We enjoyed the evening meals and felt they were well presented, again of good quality and well priced. The area and views are stunning and on a summers evening, there can be no better place to relax with a drink! We would highly recommend this hotel and we will hopefully be returning!

We went to this hotel for a night. It was in a beautiful location with many walking paths closeby which was its main attraction. The staff were very friendly but we felt on numerous occasions that they were not fully attentive. The food was very mediocre but good enough. The rooms were well maintained but definitely not upto the 4 star rating given to it.

We have just returned from the most amazing short break at the spa, we were kindly given an upgrade on arrival to a apartment with Jacuzzi. The apartment was fantastic with the most amazing views, it was spotlessly clean with fresh fluffy towels. The breakfast was beautiful, full English just the ticket for the busy days ahead, we had lunch and an evening meal which were both delicious, I can recommend the lamb shank !!. The weather let us down on day one so we took advantage of the pool and steam room, which we had to ourselves which was brilliant. We spent the Tuesday in Keswick the shops, bars and the Keswick launch were all great. All staff at the spa were very accommodating and friendly and should be very proud to work in such a beautiful establishment we can't wait to return !!!

Room Tip: Ennerdale has beautiful views and a lovely Jacuzzi with all cooking facilities
