a lot of tourists !!! for this little island ... the beach was dirty and there were many insects (bring your insect repellent). They offer everywhere snorkel equipment and tours but I wonder what you can see as there is no reef to snorkel...
waist of time and money

I went to this island on a packaged tour from Barra da Lagoa. The boat ride is nauseating. The weather wasn't great on the way there (or back!), so that didn't help. The water was a bit choppy, may be better on a sunny day!

I went on a short archeological hike to see some stone carvings. There are some pretty magical views so I highly recommend doing one or two of these hikes. The island is a reserve so you can't wander on your own, you must do a guided hike. They are cheap R$10-15 depending on which you do. The small beach was nice, there are better beaches on the mainland though. I also went snorkeling, maybe it was the conditions, but the snorkeling wasn't that good. I saw a few fish but that was it. In my opinion, not worth the R$40. I would have preferred to do another hike.

Bring some snacks with you as the food on the island is a bit overpriced (understandably so since everything would have to be shipped in).

Other then the sea-sickness, I had a fun day!

You have to pay R$ 50, almost USD 20 per person to cross the gap to the island. It is very nice, and the island is very nice place. White sands, clear water. The visit will be for 4 hours, then you have to come back. They have to improve the restaurants, the setting is very poor and also the options on the menu in case that you decide to have lunch there.
I'll be back.

It is a fantastic day out on a beautiful island but beware the trail that requires you to walk/climb over the rocks and check your bill at the restaurant
