“Piece of paradise!”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

There is no place like that around Florianópolis. It took me a while to go there because everybody complains the boat is quite expensive but I guess it's a very fair price (around R$60) considering the preservation of the island. The environment is amazing, very relaxing and there are friendly guides helping around in case u need.

“Nice little island”
Reviewed 21 February 2014

During the high season it can get a little crowed, but it is a place that worth to visit and stay for a day.
There is only one way to get to the island which is using the boat. You can get the boat from 3 different places, the closest one is right in front of the island, the second from praia da Armaçao and the last from Barra da Lagoa. All of them has different prices so is better to do a little research before go there.
On the island you can go hiking with a guide from the island or rent snorkeling masks and enjoy the clear water, also there is a snorkeling trip.
There are 2 restaurants available at the island so you don't need to worry about bringing food.

I took a boat to go to Campeche Island and it was awesome. The island is beautiful, amazing and with wonderful water.
It takes one hour from Barra da Lagoa to get there by boat and if you are taking the boat, please take 30 minutes before a medicine called DRAMIN so you will avoid sickness. I felt really bad and wasted one hour at the island just feeling really sick.

“Unspoilt paradise”
Reviewed 31 January 2014

I fully recommend a visit to Capeche Island if you spend a few days in Florianopolis. The island is located just a short boat ride off the coast of Campeche beach and has by far the most stunning beach (with calm, crystal clear water) in the region. An absolute tropical paradise.

There are several ways to get there. We took a small rubber boat from Campeche beach for 80 R$ a head but there are larger boats leaving from other locations. There is only a limited amount of guests allowed on the island at one time so departure times from the island are fixed. You won't regret spending a day there though (most operators leave the island by 4PM at the latest).
There are lifeguards and rangers on the island who will look after you. You must remain on the beach, unless you join a tour on the hiking trails, where you can see some archeological sites and ancient rock drawings.
There are two restaurants on the island which serve drinks and small meals. (Don't order the coke or other sweet drinks as the bees will eat you alive - it's a nature reserve after all)
