Description: Fjorubordid (Fjöruborðið - The seashore) restaurant is in the small village of Stokkseyri with 560 residents but over 50.000 customers pr year, only 10 minutes from Selfoss. Selfoss is the capital of the southwest, the golden circle, Þingvellir (Thingvellir) Gullfoss, Geysir, Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss area. Just 44 minutes from Reykjavik and 75 minutes from Keflavik airport you can enjoy a wonderful afternoon of Reykjavik, Golden circle, Glaciers, Waterfalls and Northern lights. We are on the way to Vík (Vik), Vatnajokull and Skaftafell. Our langoustines are world famous and the langoustine soup is magical. It is suitable for numerous occasions and happy moments on ordinary days, but Fjöruborðið takes no responsibility for consequences or stirring adventures that could result from ingesting it. It has a will of its own and, as such, it is risky for those who don't want to venture beyond the average. Come and enjoy, summer or winter, Stokkseyri will become your adventure.

If you love lobsters, then I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The icelandic lobster cream soup had a traditional delicios taste. It was brought with a bread and 2 kinds of sauces - sour cream and something like mango. After that we got a nice large pot of fried lobsters for two which was brought with cous cous and vegetables, and it was more than enough - brilliant taste, well done.
Dessert was a large piece of a traditional chocolate cake and cheese cake with a red berries' sauce (red currant?) All together was a little bit too pricey but lobster was definitely worth it.

We had heard that the lobsters at Fjorubordid were worth making a detour to experience. We visited the first time at the beginning of our road trip around the Ring Road. It was SO wonderful that at the end of our 14 day road trip, we went back for more lobsters. The Icelandic lobster is what we in the USA would call a langostine or langostino and they are really small as compared to Maine lobsters, but oh so sweet. They are served by weight to determine how many you receive. There were 4 of us and so we were served a huge bowl full of lobsters that were ready to pop apart with our fingers (warm wipes are provided at the end of the meal). SO delicious. And...the garlic butter at the bottom of the bowl was great for dipping bread - Mm-m-m-m good! You can order the lobsters with "fixings" which consist of veggies, but there's really no need if you love lobsters. The lobster soup was also really excellent. Service was very prompt, friendly, and efficient. Absolutely no negatives to share. All four of our little group heartily recommend Fjorubordid for either lunch or dinner - we did both.
