It was our third visit here, my sons are growing up so there is always something new for them as they get older and understand. Very helpful staff.

I went here with another family. We had a great time learning how to light fires, throw spears and generally do things as they did in the stone age. The films of the history of home sapiens and Neanderthals was very interesting. It would be good if they could introduce some other human species now more is known about them. Maybe this will come in time.

We took our little ones here for the day and had a fun time. They loved seeing themselves as Neanderthals on the image-converting machines and loved the giant woolly mammoths and other animals. We actually learnt a surprising amount as well. A good family day out if you are in the area.

If you want to know what Paleosite is all about make sure you see the films first before you venture outside. We were advised to do the opposite by the ticket desk which wasnt the best advice! There are four films each shown in different theatres. You move from one to the other and the presentation is innovative. We visited in early August and there were plenty of activities going on outside including fling knapping, cave art, lance throwing and a roaming Sapiens dressed up as a Neanderthal. Pretty good interpretation in English for non-French speakers. Films are shown with headphones in Fr, En and Spanish. We visited with three teenagers who enjoyed it but plenty of 7-12 year olds having a blast too. Only disappointment was the rather neglected state of the 1979 discovery site of the 35,000 ye old female Nenderthal bones on which the entire attraction is based! Family focused attraction but one that couples would enjoy too. Definitely visit this attraction, it is as one of the classic European Neanderthal sites.

we came across this almost by accident .two adults and two teenage girls enjoyed the experience with its mixture of internal visual and outside displays .as a bonus the food at the cafe is good too and all are very friendly.Missed the spear throwing sadly as well for the locals
