“Beautiful food”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

While staying in mainzana we were told about this little hidden restaurant by a local, which was handy as I think we may have missed it if it wasn't pointed out to us. We Went on a week night and it was full of locals dining, which is always a good sign! The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were friendly. The food was fantastic especially for the price. We had staters, main and wine for about 20 euros each. I would definitely recon end

“Great Pasta!”
Reviewed 12 November 2013

Hard to find but worth the effort. Mid range price restaurant except when you feast with white Truffles and Porcini mushrooms...but...go for it!!! It's well worth the little difference. After a notable half sliced bruschetta with a sort of "ciausco", start with a home made pasta: Carbonara with Truffles or linguine with Truffles, followed by the mushroom trio - fried mushroom, sliced fresh mushroom and mushroom soup - The fried mushroon (hard to find in Lazium) are very well made (not too greasy). The meats are good and the deserts very good. good house wine and notable wine list. Very friendly and efficient service. A must go place.

“Best Restaurant for Miles Around”
Reviewed 4 January 2013

Hidden in the downstairs of a suburban looking house, Sorcetto is a hidden gem. A high quality restaurant with excellent food and mid-range prices. Fortunately the Italians know all about it, and the dining hall is always full to the gunwalls with the Italians from miles around.

The food is elegantly presented here, with a large wood oven in front of the entrance for cooking the steaks, and an impressive porcini-mushroom display cabinet, along with preserved meats and cheeses along the side of the dining hall.

The most famous dish is possibly Sorcetto's "Caccio and Pepe" crisps, of which I have heard tell even at Fiumicino Airport, but we first visited this place for their porcini mushrooms. Until you have tasted porcini mushrooms from Sorcetto you haven't lived.

Sorcetto also has very affordable pizzas and pasta courses, but there is also a real treat at the end of the meal because their melt in the mouth puds (Caramel nests full of fresh strawberries or fresh forest fruits with Chantilly Cream) are just extraordinary.

Bills in Sorcetto can come out on the high side, but this is usually because we have been tempted to overorder, which is very tempting here. Better just choose a couple of starters and a pud.

Do not - under any circumstances - order the polenta if you want to be able to walk afterwards. Steaks also available but very heavy.

Remember at Sorcetto: less is more. This policy works not only to keep the bill reasonably affordable, but because if you order more than two things, they will kill you with food. Think savage, brutal murder with a smile on its face.

The emperor Trajan visited Manziana 1900 years ago, but we know he never ate at Sorcetto? How do we know this? We know because he made it back on his horse afterwards without crushing the beast to death. Buon appetito !
