Had a wonderful time in a beautiful setting. The owners had thought of everything. Clean and a perfect base for our family holiday. Having the club house for the kids to use was a lovely touch

“Great family holiday!!”

We spent 2 weeks in Vincent and Carmel's house and had a great time. There was plenty of space for 2 adults and three children. My father joined us the second week and my sister and her family also rented a house in Brittas bay park. It all worked really well. The cousins had a great time together and loved the freedom of being able to be independent in a very safe environment. The weather helped! Brittas bay beach is beautiful, and we had some great day trips to Clara Lara, pier jumps in Wicklow town etc

Management Response

Jenny, many thanks for that review and delighted the holiday went well. we did upgrade the house somewhat over last autumn with new bedding/curtains etc and a general repainting and refurb of the decking so its great to get a positive review and would be delighted to welcome you back to Brittas bay sometime in the future. regards
Carmel and Vincent

Massive repairs needed in this property. Ant infestation was the icing on the cake. Very old uncomfortable beds. Property is miles away from anywhere. Not ideal for children as patio had big holes in it. Would most definitely not stay or recommend. Owner advised they were taking this place of the market, maybe work has been carried out, I wouldn't drive there to find out.

“Great location, average cottage comfort.”

We stayed here with extended family and had three cottages rented in this park over the week (great for a local comparison).
Great location, good amenities in the park, but the cottage itself could be described as average. Average in amenities, less than average in comfort for sleeping. It was obvious to all of us staying here that sub-standard mattresses (ones you feel the wirey coils in) were top pick here, which meant poor sleep and bad backs for us!
The patio was dangerous with gaping rotted holes near the kitchen entrance, an accident waiting to happen with little ones, plus the slipperiness when wet was lethal, 4 slips in one hour with our children. Compared to where our other family members were staying, it was obvious more time in upkeep was a priority for their cottages.
Overall, would recommend the park, but also recommend looking around at the options within the park for a good nights sleep.

“A super, relaxing base for a great family holiday”

A lovely, well-furnished home with the tennis courts a few seconds walk away and the beach only a short stroll down the road. The children had a wonderful time and the adults felt reassured that they were safe as they played outside in this secure complex. The gas BBQ was super and having a locked shed facilitated safe storage of our bikes when they were not being used.

“Superb holiday cottage, perfect base for exploring the Wicklow area!!!”
Reviewed 24 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We found the accommodation to meet our needs in every aspect, the gated complex and the activities on offer there ensured both adults and kids alike were well catered for. The cottage was spacious and very well equipped, the decked area was great for outdoor eating. This is a great base to explore the Wicklow area, there is so much to see and do. Finally, just to say thanks for the warm and friendly welcome we received from Vincent and Carmel :)
