Karni mata temple in Rajasthan is locted in Deshnok about 30 kilometers from Bikaner on the way to Ajmer. This very old temple is world famous for the rates (called KABA locally) moving all around freely in the temple. You are considered very lucky if you spot a white rat.
Entry in the temple is free but you have to pay for camera. Ample parking space is there. Good hotels and restaurants are in the vicinity. A must visit if you happen to be in Bikaner.

had heard about it so definately thought of doing the experience.
had been there with family & friends.there are infinite rats running inside the temple.they do not trouble you or bite you.you just need to walk towards the goddess and obviously without stamping on the rats.you can feed the rats and watch them doing their playful activites.

If you are going to Bikenar then you must visit this temple. I thought there would be a carpet of rats but this is not so. You can walk easily without worrying about stepping on them and if you stand still long enough you might be lucky enough to have one run across your feet! You are not allowed to wear shoes and can go in with your socks on but why dirty up some socks that you will have to wash. I went in barefoot and then washed my feet, very easy! Even saw a white rat which is supposed to be very auspicious :-)

Ma parents and granny were keen to visit this temple. We arrived at sunset and the beautiful temple door greeted us. The temple inside is full of rats. They mostly stay at the boundary so u can walk fine but they run here n there so u GTA b careful not to step on em. Also if u get freaked out like me looking at rats from less than a feet away..this place is not for you. I was constantly screaming in fear.
To see a white rat you gotta check out the rat feeding area outside theidol temple cz days where we saw a few of em!
The museum is ok and lists paintings with all of mata's miracles.

I m visiting this temple regularly since last 7 years. The architecture of the temple is awesome. During my first visit i was a bit scared of rats but now i m fine. Very lovely temple. The only thing which i dislike is the people who manage temple dont respect people and rather than puja are more interested in the chadhawa.
After darshan at the gate there are couple of bhajan singers with drum , just listen to them . Awesome experience.
And dont forget to look for white rat before leaving the temple premise which is believed as lucky charm .
Jai maa karni.
