“A cosy quiet place to relax.”
Reviewed 9 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Kathleen met us on arrival and even provided the tea, coffee and milk to get us started.
Beds were clean and comfortable.
We even had peat and wood to light a fire.
Would highly recommend Tailor Cottage.

“A beautiful cottage in an amazing part of Donegal!”
Reviewed 21 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

A beautiful cottage - perfect for a few nights away.

All correspondence was excellent.

The lovely breakfast treats and 'ready to light' stove fire were a lovely welcome!

Would love to visit again soon!

We stayed for a weekend for a family birthday. The cottage was fantastic - a warm welcome from Kathleen with a well-stoked fire already burning. There were loads of great extra touches like having milk, tea, coffee and orange juice already in the kitchen, and even fresh flowers on the table. The location is excellent and a great base to take trips around the area. Our only regret was not staying for a week - we will definitely go back.

“Little Hidden Gem”

My girlfriend and I were looking for somewhere to spend a night away from the hustle and bustle of Christmas before the festivities got into full swing and I came across Tailor's Cottage on TripAdvisor - it didn't disappoint.

The cottage is surprisingly easy to find, nestled on a hillside in northern Donegal with a spectacular view of the sweeping landscape beyond. Inside, it's tastefully decorated and very tidy with all modern cons, yet doesn't lose any of its rustic charm. The kitchen is well-stocked with utensils and everything else you'll need to cook dinner; the living room features a good tv mounted above a brilliant turf fire, which kept us toasty on our cold December night there (just don't let it go out, it's hard to relight!); the bedrooms are themed and very comfortable - there's even a playstation, DVD player and plenty of board games to keep you busy.

For us, just spending a night in front of a roaring fire watching movies after a huge meal with the wind howling around the house was just what we were looking for. To top it all off, the owner (Kathleen) had stocked the fridge with milk, butter and orange juice, and had supplied croissants with jam and marmalade and a nice bottle of wine. She also decorated the cottage for Christmas, which was a great touch.

All in all, we had a brilliant night there and will definitely be back again. I can highly recommend Tailor's Cottage, particularly for those looking for a bit of isolation and privacy. Go in winter.
