We visited here whilst staying at church farm cl at Dethick,it is a pleasant short walk away. Our first couple of visits were for much needed refreshments after walking in the surrounding countryside which is stunning. After noticing how busy they were with food orders we decided to try eating here. We were not dissapointed and even though they were busy with a couple of large groups found the service to be excellent, the same can be said about the food. My husband had steak pie and chips, proper top and bottom pastry with plenty of good quality meat filling. I had the daily special of salmon fiscake with cheese and tarragon sauce, all piping hot and delicious. Although we were quite full we could not resist sharing the trio of ice cream which was lovely, if only we had room for some of the lovely desserts we saw coming out of the kitchen. In our opinion this is a well run establishment with "proper" chefs and well thought out menues and an amiable landlord, what more could you ask of a village pub? Would recommend and revisit. PS. Lots of locals here too which says a lot ( very friendly they were too)
