9 of us from 14 to 79 years enjoyed a beautiful tapas style lunch. Food was varied and plentiful. Polenta chips and warm blue cheese dipping sauce my favourite . Pizza, calamari, cheese, pate. Plentiful,Fresh and delicious thanks to chef Sean. Staff were attentive and friendly and happy to go through the wine list with tastings. The venue is rustic with lovely views. Highly recommend this for any occasion informal or formal.

We stayed here for our wedding, the place is spacious and well set out and has a beautiful view of the vineyards. We went down on numerous occassions for a bite to eat on their lovely deck. Palenta chips were the pick of the bunch as well as their wood fired pizzas. It is casual compared to other places to eat in the region but that is what gives it its charm. Overall a great place.

Great venue. Well presented and authentic. Eating out is not just about food, its also the experience and above all service. My birthday lunch was ruined by slow, sloppy, arrogant service from untrained staff who did not even seem to care. The menu is limited and expensive, but adequate nice food. We received a cheese platter and then waited 40min for our wine in spite of a gentle initial reminder followed by a frustrated direct request. When the wine did arrive it was plonked on the table and left for us to serve. Our order for two speciality pizza's and salad arrived in delayed sequence over 30mins.
There was no table aknowledgement to ask if we would like sweets or coffee to finish our meal. By this stage things were quiet. My wife went to find the waitress (who was chatting to the chef and ignoring uncleared tables) to pay the bill and was addressed as "darl" see you again - think not !!!
We are long term Peninsula residents, well travelled and experienced diners. This is not something we encounter elsewhere in the world and a recent trip to NZ would give lazy Aussie restaurant owners a real wake up call when it comes to the dining experience.

I took my family here for lunch over the Xmas / New Year break.
Firstly, the setting is awesome, overlooking the vines. The menu is well put together, just simple, rustic Italian style food.
The food we ordered was extremely delicious and my parents were very impressed. I would think twice about coming back though.
Why?
When we arrived, the place was strewn with empty tables not cleared of dirty plates. it took 20 minutes for the stresses out wait staff to take our order ( no polenta fries left!!??) and then our food turned up without cutlery, napkins etc.
The staff were professional, AND very apologetic, but you could tell they'd worked a frantically busy holiday lunch service with not enough support or staff. There didn't appear to be a Manager in sight and it felt like they were all at the end of their tether!
They did the best they could but the whole place felt like it needed a strong manager, and more staff to support such a busy holiday period.

Based in this, I would think twice about returning.
