“The Best Place to Stay nr Iguazu”
Reviewed 8 February 2014

Yes, it is a 45 minute drive from the Falls and the last few kms are particularly slow but it is a lovely restful place to stay when visiting Iguazu. We spent four days at the Posado, one of which was spent at the Falls. The other days we lazed at the pool, walked in the forests and just enjoyed typical Missiones hospitality. The local guide, Fabricio was excellent. The staff were unobtrusive and the food was mostly good. It is a lovely homestead with great decks, beautiful views and large cool bedrooms.. The only negative was the cost of a boat trip up the Parana which was poor value at US$200pp. We were pleased to have stayed here rather than at the hotel at the Falls.

The posada, although difficult to get to, is an oasis of beauty and peace. The accommodations, restaurant, grounds, bar and staff are all excellent. If you come, take the historical, river and nature tours with Juan. He is superb. While eating dinner, I mentioned to our waiter that I was looking for flan on the dessert menu, and the next evening Rupert, the chef, had made some especially for me without my asking. That kind of generous, thoughtful service marks the whole staff. Paola, the concierge, graciously handled several phone issues for us. If possible, I suggest you do what we did -- that you make this your restorative farewell to Argentina.

We visited Puerto Bemberg while on a trip to Iguazu, and really pleased we dedicated a day to the experience. A magnificent well maintained hotel set in a jungle paradise. If you want a very peaceful holiday in luxury, then this is the place. Jungle walks, a great library, a god restaurant service, stunning views of the Parana, well appointed large rooms and no external pressures. Well recommended.

We stayed one night only at Bemberg after viewing the falls and staying at the Sheraton. But with hindsight this was a mistake and we would have been better to have stayed longer at Bemberg. It is a lovely quiet hotel about 40 minutes from the falls. However it is a small / special place unlike many of the large Tourist hotels in Iguazu.

The staff were very friendly and Juan was a great guide. The food was excellent and we loved the place. We went on the interesting Amazon walk (free) and also to the falls. Some reviews complain about the cost but it is less if there are more of you. Others complain about mosquitos but we were fine.

All I can say is give it a go and stay there,

We stayed here for 2 nights to visit the falls. We sadly did not have the opportunity to explore around the hotel during the day. But the time we spent there in the evenings and mornings was lovely.
The hotel is remote with jungle all around it. our room was beautiful, and the restaurant/lounge was too. Dinner was great esp the river fish and empanadas. caipirinha's were 5* too. Our Spanish is terrible but all the staff were so friendly and helpful that we got round it. Breakfast was simple but nice with fresh juices and freshly baked goodies. Would love to go back thank you for an amazing stay.

If you're thinking about seeing the amazing Iguazu Falls and enjoying the surrounding Iguazu National Park, there is no better place than Posada Puerto Bemberg. A family-owned and operated compound, the staff is attentive and nice, the restaurant is fine and more than you would expect. The breakfast buffet is small but fresh and perfect and they will make anything you want. Fresh corn muffins and a number of interesting breads, the best fresh peach and pineapple juice you will ever drink! This wonderful, dream-like place is in the middle of the rainforest, will host your boat ride on the river, walks through the forest and their drive, Claudia, will take you wherever you need to go. Do not stay anywhere else when exploring Iguazu! And it's a really romantic setting to renew and recharge.

Room Tip: The suite is the bomb! Take it, you won't be sorry.

We stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights during our honeymoon. It is true that the location is around 50 minutes drive from Iguazu Falls (the prime reason for visiting this part of Argentina). That said, we enjoyed being removed from the chaos around the Falls, and the hotel is in the midst of the rainforest with stunning views over the Parana River. Where the place falls a little short is in the quality of accommodation ,which looks in need of a refresh, and the menu, which is a tad limited. We found the staff very friendly and sipping cocktails in the afternoon sun on the outside deck overlooking the forest was very relaxing. There are numerous interesting and exotic-looking birds fleeting around the gardens eating the fruit on the trees.
