“Best intimate restaurant in SY valley”

The restaurant is just charming. Cute country hotel, very cozy and yet elegant dining room with fireplace. Several tables on the terrace. Great atmosphere inside, very pleasant to dine outside.

Service is very good as well. Food is beautiful mix of Asian elements and local cuisine. And one sees the chef purchasing the produce at Solvang Farmers Market weekly without fail.

Ballard inn restaurant has been my favorite restaurant for ages. But it has been a while since I have eaten there as there is one major issue with the menu. It has been pretty much the same for many years. And as wonderful as the restaurant is, the menu is frustratingly old. And tiresome. Of course , that is issue for locals only.

“Quality ingredients, nice menu choices, great wines!”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

Dining on the front porch was our favorite, watching the locals walking, cycling or driving by. The wine and charcuterie hour was a nice relaxing start to the evening.

“Food was good”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

The food was good, the wine was served too cold even for a white wine. The service was a little confused at dinner but great when we ate the two breakfasts we had the two mornings we were there.

“Better than candlelight at home...”

First I must admit this is my favorite restaurant to go to with my husband. We are locals so have the opportunity to eat at all the options as time is no object. Admission # 2, I am one of those folks that like to cook and am fair decent at it so getting The Him to go out to eat can be a challenge....he loves this place. Fresh, imaginative food in a place that feels like a romantic date. Since it is cozy it can be a challenge for a large group of the bachelorette variety but hey why not just rent the whole restaurant and treat yourselves to a meal to remember.

“Great food”

Food is exquisite here. Budi does a fantastic job in taste and presentation. I love his Hamachi appetizer. I always end up getting the duck dish.
