“Should and could have been better if...”
Reviewed 25 June 2007

I had a group of 11 play this course in late June 2007. Temps were around 110 and the course provided NO water anywhere except to buy it. If we knew that we would have stocked up before having to purchase it from them. We played a course the day before that had water EVERY hole, so we were taken aback.
We then played a 2nd round and the cartgirl made her final rounds when we were on the 3rd hole.
I think the management of the course is playing fire with how dangerous this can be for some golfers if they are not prepared.
We had set up our trip through an internet company and it was an unlimited golf trip and the staff in the pro shop flat out told me "NO, they do not do this" and we would pay for the 2nd round. There was no trying to accomodate our group, just a flat out no. After all was said and done, they were WRONG and we played our 2nd round.
The course was set up nicely, up and down throughout some beautiful mountains and massive homes. We came across a family of deer, tons of quail, liizards, and one rattlesnake.

“good value, great scenery, tough golf”
Reviewed 5 June 2007

Played Dinosaur twice over Memorial day weekend. Temps around 100, but much more comfortable than 85 and humidity in my hometown of Houston. Course crawls up, down, and through the canyons and is very scenic, with lots of wildlife out on the course. Put your ego and your driver away and keep the ball on the green stuff, otherwise you will feel like you've been mugged. Took a while to figure which clubs to use on the par threes that dropped a couple hundred feet in elevation, and that most of the putts broke towards Phoenix; down valley, but I did better during the second round. Condition of the course was very good, didn't know what to expect in the warmer weather, but the fairways and greens were lush and healthy and rolled true and fast.
A nice little resort with an atmosphere quite different from the big resorts, but friendlier and more personal, in my opinion.
The other course here, Sidewinder is very good too, not quite as scenic, but a good challenge also.

“You have to play here!”
Reviewed 16 November 2006

Our foursome loved this course! There are teeboxes for everyone. The scenery is fantastic! I want to play it again and again. Make sure you put this one on your must-dos. We went in Nov and paid 85.00 because they were just off of the maintenance but you could not tell except the greens were a bit slow and cart path only. This was f ine because it gave us some exercise.

“A Great Golf Experience”
Reviewed 20 February 2004

We played 18 holes here in November 2003 because it was billed as the top public course in the state and I love the adjacent Superstition Mountains. The course was a jaw-dropper with beautiful scenery on every hole and great conditions. Twilight rate with 1:00 Tee-off was $80 and booked online. Highly recommended!
