“Family friendly down to earth”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 August 2014 via mobile

I stayed at the Windsor for 4 nights, found the hosts very welcoming and friendly nothing was too much to ask for. Food was good hearty pub food just what you need with the sea air making you so hungry! Room was clean and presentable with a good quality tv. Will be staying again.

Stayed here for the Pembroke Show week. Pleasant owners, lovely food and relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. Exactly what we wanted and will be back next year. Thank you Cath and Fred, Marc - Sporting Hares.

I read the reviews sating do not stay here and thought I would give it a go. you always have some bad reviews. Well if I were paying £20 a night for hostel quality fine. I wasn't, it was dated, the hotel smelt of a mens urinal, the room was old and shabby, springs worn in the bed, the toilet took 15minutes to fill up once flushed and the shower needed a good clean. Ripped carpet, a kettle that should have had a health warning on it.

The only positive was the owners were friendly though did not see a problem with the accommodation.

Found this a terrible place to stay. Nobody to greet on arrival (just three pub regulars who informed me landlord had 'popped upstairs for a dump') when he did appear he was more interested in whether anyone had helped themselves to a drink than booking me in. Was eventually led up a filthy set of stairs to my room closely followed by an over friendly dog. The room was adequate but very old looking. Plenty of tea/coffee but teabags were very cheap and nasty and kettle had to be on the floor to reach any sockets! Very noisy room, could clearly hear people in other rooms/tv's etc and pipes and sink made terrible glugging noises all night. Shared bathroom was disgusting, very dirty and at least 20 used shampoo/shower gel bottles all round the edges of the bath. Two of the tiniest and roughest towels I have ever seen were provided.
Hosts appeared to be constantly drunk and were very helpful, no breakfast offered and because I wanted to go out at 8.30am I had to unlock the pub and let myself out!
As an older lady visiting alone I did not feel at all safe. The landlords did not make me feel welcome or valued in any way. An altogether horrible experience.

If you find the rest of Little England fully booked as we did; you want somewhere just to get your head down, with friendly down to earth service, and you're not looking for en suite luxury....check in with Fred and Kathy. We tried to drink them dry of JD and Bells and we still couldn't get our total bill with room and board over £60!
