Let's face it, Exuma is NOT the shopping type of island! But when we are there, Sandpiper is the place to go.
Great selection of cloths/tops, loads of books and reference materials including navigation charts/maps, beautiful art work and pottery and a few souvenir trinkets.
The straw market is good for your tourist type stuff, but if you are looking for something to remember your visit, take a look at Sandpiper.

We stopped in here last week during our week in Great Exuma. There is a great selection of gifts, clothing, and unique items. Worth the stop.

Just home from Exuma where we enjoyed the most wonderful week celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the National Family Island Regatta (Bahamian made sloop sailing racing). It's these unique cultural competitions that schedule our Bahamian visits...along with the fun festivals and friendly people that accompany them. But whether you are in for 'Regatta" or enjoying that ultimate 'escape to paradise'.... do include SANDPIPER ARTS & CRAFTS in your explorations; you won't walk away disappointed! Imagine three generations of island history and island artisanship on display and shared firsthand. Each Minns family member is a GGT, Exuma treasure! ~ We were seeking unique additions to our Bahamian collectibles; we found a treasure-trove of wonderful items. It was the vintage photos of earlier days of Exuma life and Regatta that truly engaged our interest; also chatting right there with Miss Jessica Minns about her new line of handmade pottery and the attractive island interpretations of her dishware! ~ We spied the nicest collections of books, charts & maps and the most tasteful and chic resortwear. All we can say...Pop in! Look around! And don't forget to introduce yourselves. You'll be hard-pressed to leave without a positive experience ....and purchase to capture your appreciation and love of beautiful Exuma. Doc & Mrs Fig, York, PA, USA.

Sandpiper is a treasure trove that will delight any visitor. 3 generations of Minns family art, all very different in styles, and all beautifully unique in their representations of their lives on this beautiful island. There is something there for everyone of every gender and age group and if you are not in market for art, you will find fabulous island resortwear and other clothing including silk screened T's depicting life in and around the island, swimsuits, handbags and more. Interesting books on island history, jewelry and many other unusual little treasures that make great gifts to take home or just "spoil yourself" moments because you will never leave this shop empty handed.
Don't miss this place when you visit George Town.
