Our stay here has been a complete pleasure. We were welcomed very warmly by Ilona on our arrival and shown into such comfortable, clean and attractive accommodation that we knew we were on to a winner. Everything was to a very high standard – comfortable beds, lovely bedding, fluffy towels and a thoughtful welcome tray. Nothing was too much trouble for Ilona and Gavin who did their utmost to ensure our stay was relaxed and enjoyable.

We've just returned after a one night stay at Torcastle House. We were on a walking trip and had initially booked for the weekend earlier. The weather was looking like a complete washout so we cheekily asked if there was an option to move the booking to a week later. We were assured that this wouldn't be a problem and that the room would be waiting for us the following weekend at no extra charge.

When we did finally arrive the first bit of excitement is actually finding the house. You travel up a winding track and at one point go through a narrow tunnel. Your perseverance definitely pays off though once you arrive, the house has tranquil surroundings and Ben Nevis rising almost directly above you. We got a really warm welcome from the 3 dogs who seemed delighted to see us!

The room itself was spotlessly clean, spacious and as good as we've encountered in several 4 star hotels. The bath was especially welcomed by some sore legs. Ilona's hospitality also set us at ease - we were asked when we wanted breakfast rather than told when it would be served and were also told to take our time in the morning and only leave when we were ready.

The breakfast the following morning was fantastic and accompanied by views out the patio doors directly onto the Nevis ranges.

All told it was really enyoable stop over and exactly what we needed after a long day on the hills.

Special mention to the young chap who greeted us when we first arrived, showed us to our room and took our breakfast order for the next morning!

We stayed at this B&B for 2 nights in July 2011.It is run by a lovely couple who are very friendly and helpful. The rooms we had were perfect, and we were served a lovely cooked breakfast. It was so peaceful there, and still had so much to offer.Lovely walks through the woods and up to the canal and still only a short drive to the town.If you want to visit the highlands of scotland and experience the lifestlye there this accomodation is a must. Its a B&B with a differance. A truely lovely experience.
