We stayed at the Moorings Hotel in August 2013. We arrived at about 7 PM after a long journey from St. Andrews. The check in process was simple and the receptionist was helpful. The building is a bit odd in its set up, but I think several additions were the reason for that.

Our room was basic. Nothing fancy. But it was clean. We were looking for a good night's sleep and got it.

The food was just OK. Breakfast was good, dinner just average.

Hope this is helpful.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. As we do not know which room you were staying in I cannot comment on this in detail, however in our Superior Bedrooms we do provide 'extras' such as Bathrobes, Slippers and a DVD Player, along with the standard Tea & Coffee making facilities, Bottled water, 32 inch flat-screen televisions and toiletries which you will find in all of our bedrooms. If you would like to let us know more detail on this then please get in touch. It would be helpful for us to understand your comments better.

Stayed here for one night as attending one of their Christmas Party nights with work. From the moment I checked in I couldn't fault the lovely welcome and helpful service given by the reception team, the receptionist personally showing me to my room. My room was warm and spacious lovely and clean and the bed was very comfortable so I slept very well. Breakfast in the morning had a good selection of cereals and fresh fruits with meats, cheeses and pastries also available as was a good cooked selection. The fitness room is also great good quality machines in a fresh airy room. Overall I have no problems recommending this as a place to stay.

We were staying in Lochaber so cannot comment on the accommodation but the hotel was recommended to us to eat at so we gave it a go, and then ate there 3 more times! The food was really good as was the friendly service. The eating area is pleasant and you are not crammed in. As others have said, it isn't the cheapest place to eat at but the food is really nice. Would recommend this place to everyone.

Thank you for taking the time to review our Upper Deck Lounge Bar and your dining experience. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your meal with us on more than one occasion. You make mention of our pricing, however we do like to think that our pricing is reflected in the quality produce that we use to create our dishes as you said. Thanks again for taking the time to write us such a positive review.

Just spent three nights at this hotel. Arrived and was greeted by friendly, helpful reception staff who explained everything about the hotel, was shown to our room which was warm, cosy and very very clean. We opted to eat in the bar area and could not fault one thing, staff friendly, food very good and hot, surroundings very comfortable. We would definately recommend this hotel and will be visiting it ourseves in the future.

Stayed one night whilst on a short break visiting the West Coast with friends.
Excellent friendly service from arrival to checkout.
Rooms spacious and comfortable.
Only criticism (hopefully constructive) is around the food, although very tasty the presentation was rather dated and could have looked much more appetising which spoilt the dinning experience also plates were cold. Sorry to appear picky and I have to admit to watching numerous cookery programmes, dinning out is always a treat so just a few improvements would make such a difference?

Thank you for a lovely stay.

Absolutely enjoyed our 1 night stay here, started with lunch in the bar (before we checked in)with the best service from Yvonne. Service at check in was also great, shown to our room which was a bit of a hike but had a view over the canal and was a great size. Room was fairly modern and all facilities were available and appreciated. Also decided to have dinner in the bar, great meals at good prices before journeying downstairs for a couple of hours entertainment from the comedy musicians in the wine bar. Cannot fault this stay, will certainly book again if we are ever back in the area, one of the highlights of our road trip, well done Moorings Team.

Stayed here for three nights. Friendly & helpful check-in staff. Room clean and large with all facilities. Food very good tried both the bar meals and restaurant meals and not disappointed. Scottish full breakfast excellent and set you up for the day. If you get chance try to get one of the rooms overlooking the Caledonian Canal with a backdrop of Ben Nevis in the distance but the only down side as previously reviewed is the long walk from reception.

Thank you for your review - feedback is always appreciated especially when genuine. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay, as you commented some of the higher superior rooms are a bit of a trek but worth it for the views. We hope you will be back to visit with us again when next in the area.
