“Great stay”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

We spent 4 nights here and my family loved it and the dog, lots to do in the day and great family fun in night, plus we had the bonus of the sandy beach which was only 5 min away and had the pleasure of seeing some seals on a couple of times

Thank you for leaving us a review of your holiday, it was so nice to read that you loved your time with us. Seeing the seals in their natural environment on Caister Beach is wonderful, and the beach is a real treat for all our furry friends.

We really hope that you come back and see us very soon.

2nd time at Caister with the grandchildren ages 9.8.8. and again did not disappoint. Prestige caravan like last year. Lots to do on site the beach ,playpark, swimming pool, fun tower, cart hire, funworks
amusements and the characters and the funstars which the children love! Good entertainment in
the evening. Prices in the Mash and Barrel are high, we ate there just the once nice meal though. Lidl and Tesco are outside the complex. The Spar onsite is expensive. The grandchildren had a lovely time and so did we.

Room Tip: Select a deluxe or prestige caravan they are worth the money

Me and my family spent a week on this camp in a prestige 2 bed caravan. When we arrived early we was greeted by Howard who was great and was allowed to park next to the caravan early then enter at time stated. Caravan was amazing and right next to the beach.
The live lounge is really nice and reasonably priced. The funstars were all amazing and really made an effort with the kids. Wayne is just sooo funny !!
Park is very well kept with plenty to do and we cannot wait to return next year as we loved it that much.
A very memorable holiday and not too far from other things to do either. Will see you next year !!

Just got back from a 4 day sun holiday to Caister holiday park and had a lovely time. There was my self, partner and 16 month old daughter and the dog lol. First of all the location of our caravan was perfect we were right next to the beach in no 1 Fanfare, you only had to walk out the door and over the sand dunes and your on the beach. we also ungraded the caravan thinking it would be bigger and yes it had a extra bedroom making this 6 birth but in the main bedroom we needed space for a travel cot and we could barley walk around the bed and had no room at all for a travel cot, I did ring haven before we went and made them aware and they did say there would be room, we ended up pushing the bed against the wall and swueezing the matress from the other bed next to us and she slept there, but had to put loads of quilts under the bed because there was metal bars that came down from the bed and didnt want her to roll on them in the night. Obv we were limited to the type of caravan we could have due to taking the dog and the others may be bigger but we was assured it would be fine. There is the usual things in the room but u need to take things like iron, tea towel, washing up liquid etc.... there is a hire room to hire ironing board, highchairs hair dryers everything you need u can hire for a fee per day or the whole duration with a 10.00 refundable deposit per item. Check in is 4pm and check out 10am but we just asked for more time and got till 11.15. The park is big and where we were situated was about 10-15 min walk to where everything is. There is a spar shop and bakery on site (which is expensive) there is also a fish and chip shop that we only noticed on the way out because it is situated out the way right by reception as you check in, There is also papa johns which is open until after the entertainment is finished and they also deliver to your caravan if u want. There is a pub called mash and barrell which if you order before 5pm you get 25% of the bill. There is also a pool which is nice and has a slide for the kids and 2 out door play areas. There is apparently a pub called seagulls but we didnt see this we got told it right at the top of the park, there is also a bingo place and shop and a few other things half way through the park but again didnt see these until we left. There is amusements and above them is like a soft play area for todlers it was closed for maintenance while we were there but looks good.
The entertainement is brilliant, in the day they have kids club for all ages you get a book telling you whats on the red are free the blue and green you have to book, the kids club was good all the charecters came out and spent time with the little ones did activities and at night from 5pm they do kids shows, talent shows, then they have a act on signer, comedian etc.... then at 10pm they have something else on the reps do quiz shows get the audiencee involved and put on a really good show. Then when thats finshed there is a disco till about 12am.
overall this is a ideal place for families of all ages and we had a lovely holiday, wish the weather was nice as it was overcast everyday with bits of rain and definatly needed a jacket on lol if you enjoy it its well worth booking for next year the prices have 50% off and for us next year for a week was only 259.00 if we booked now but cant due to my partners work.

Room Tip: on the map of the cap site any of the top blocks are next to the beach we were in no 1 fanare which...

I've just got back from a week at this park. I traveled with my wife and two 2-year old twins - it's our second visit, having had a great time last year and after my having written a lengthy report following it.

Busy booking in, but can not fault the very friendly and helpful staff at Reception. Having received a courtesy call a week before our visit, asking if everything was ok and we knew where we were going...etc., we asked if we could stay at a 2-storey chalet, rather than the single-level one we stayed at last year.

On arrival, we were very impressed with the accommodation - small living area and kitchen, as with the single-level type, but very spacey bedrooms upstairs. Our biggest niggle with our previous visit was the size of the double bed, which did not allow us the needed R & R between twin toddler busy days! Unfortunately, this had not changed when we looked at the bed in the double room. However, we did note that the larger bedroom, which contained a double bed and two singles had a larger double mattress. With a bit of interior re-design (sorry Haven) we were very happy with the larger mattress, now in the double room - problem solved!

Whilst on the negative side of things, I was slightly disappointed to see that none of the suggestions we put forward following our last visit had come into effect. Admittedly, these were nice-to-haves and couldn't really detract from our holiday experience - draining boards that didn't drain (could have done with plate-stand-type drainers), carpet sweeper availability, outdoor play areas for Under 8s.

Food & Drink - Again, Fish & Chip shop really good, Papa Johns untried. I've read a lot of negative reviews about the Mash & Barrel, but can't agree with any of them in my experience. The food is expensive, but the dishes were not particularly small and staff again were very friendly. The place was very clean, giving the impression that the staff pounced on a table to clean it as soon as it was left. The on-site shop sold most things you would expect to find and need, but there are a multitude of supermarkets in the surrounding area if you want more homely comforts. As mentioned before, soft drink prices were very reasonable on site.

Daytime Activities - As with last year, we didn't take full advantage of the activities on offer so cannot comment fully. There are a lot of things to do, but many come at additional cost. We used the soft play area a few times, but this is largely aimed at the Over 8s age range - the equipment for the Under 5s in particular is left wanting. Good weather prevailed, however, so this wasn't so bad.

Evening Entertainment - This was a big 10/10 last year, so we weren't expecting this year's to match up. I'm not sure if it's a Haven thing or a Haven Caister thing, but it seems that they employ Funstars with an eye on their talent for shows as well as their enthusiasm for leading children's activities. On visits to holiday camps in years past, the staff shows were usually about an audience seeing the resort team in a different light, making fun of themselves...etc. The shows these guys put on are just outstanding. I was very pleased to see Lauren, Steph and Jason returning for another season. Lauren sounded sensational. Steph was now joined by another couple of trained dancers, Sophie and Sam. The choreography demanded talent and it was provided - thoroughly enjoyable! Again, just as amazing was the effort put in before, during and after the shows. The Live Lounge itself, where all these shows take place, is a great venue also, and this year it seemed as though there was always a table available at which to sit.

Outside The Camp - We didn't feel the need to venture off site too often. We set aside a couple of days to visit Great Yarmouth and it didn't disappoint.

Other Recommendations - It would be nice, and safer, to have pavements leading to the main complex from the accommodation - something you realise when taking young children there several times per day. Otherwise, some kind of formal crossing. Generally, drivers keep the speed down whilst driving around site, but there are always one or two exceptions. It would also be useful to know what outside acts are due to perform on which nights from a planning point of view, as the write-ups are very generic - although this isn't always practical.

Overall, accommodation is adequate, but the activities and staff are what keeps the park alive.

This is our third year running now here. And we are all ready talking of coming again next year. We book a private caravan which saves us £££££ also the quality of the caravan is much better.
Food at the mash and barrel is good also. Pappa johns is expensive for the size of pizzas etc. But there is out side take aways that deliver to your accommodation.
Entertainment is Fantastic funstars work very hard. The security are brilliant very friendly and helpful.
Thank you haven caister we will be back
