Pros:
(1)The sheep dogs are actually like porters. They greet the guests outside when they are driving into the farm and actually walk them to their cottage. Seriously. They are very friendly and love attention while multi-tasking their sheep guarding duties.
(2) The farm itself is lovely and really friendly. We fed the sheep, the ponies, the chickens & ducks. Be prepard though if you do this. You will get very dirty and full of muck. The animals get greedy and you'll get caught in the cross-fire. My husband was kicked by one of the ponies and our jeans were filthy from the sheep pawing us for more food.
(3) Paul, the proprietor, couldn't be any lovlier. She is extremely down to earth, friendly, and helpful. She even called the minor injury unit for me and arranged for me to be seen immediately.
(4) The location is very good because it's off of the major roads but very quiet and close to everything. Parking is plentiful.
(5) The beds were comfortable and the robes were so soft. There is a fridge, microwave, tea, coffee and some sweets as well as a DVD player.
(6) The breakfast was fine. I had one hard boiled egg, toast, cucumber, tomato, peppers, and cheese. My husband really enjoyed his oatmeal. The eggs are as fresh as possible from the chickens & ducks collected daily.

Cons:
(1) We stayed in Cottage 1 which is the smallest and it wasn't a deluxe cottage or suite so it was very rustic. We had a lot of flies and spiders in our cottage...one spider was in the shower with me and another frightened even my husband because it was so large.
(2) The radiator in the bathroom doesn't work and it was absolutely freezing in there at the end of September. The toilet seat was like ice and it was uncomfortable being in the bathroom because of this. It is also small and the towels are very hard & stiff.
(3) There wasn't much choice in the way of fruit but getting fresh fruit in Wales during this time isn't easy.
(4) The wardrobe door was broken and wouldn't close so it kept swinging open which was a bit dangerous when walking by in the narrow area between the bed.
(5) The drawers are extremely noisy from being off, and don't open or close easily and I actually hurt my hand trying to do so.

Overall, it's a great place to saty but if you're going to stay here & I do recommend it but not when it's cold, then don't stay in Cottage 1 but the other ones looked great, spacious and more luxurious.

When we arrived, we were first greeted by the friendliest sheepdogs i've ever met. The kids adored them. Paula, our host, attended to every need from fresh flowers in our room to the most amazing home-cooked farmhouse breakfasts. Our young children particularly enjoyed feeding the lambs, taking a shetland pony for a walk and collecting the duck & chicken eggs after breakfast each day.
Our room was cleaned every day and provided all mod cons (sat telly, dvd, fluffy robes, microwave, fridge etcetc)
The area is lovely too - i would recommend Portmeirion, Black Rock Sands beach (goes on for miles) and the Ffestiniog railway. If you are considering this place for a great family holiday Book now! You won't regret it.
