Reviewed 13 March 2014

We stayed in the Red House Cottage B&B as we were going to a friend’s birthday party. We had the most amazing time and felt lucky to have found the Red House Cottage, it’s a beautiful B&B! We stayed in the double bedroom, which has been really nicely decorated and has a very spacious en-suite bathroom. There were nice touches like complimentary bottled water and toiletries and Jayne also left us fresh milk each night for our tea and coffee, fresh coffee was also provided with a small cafetiere, which was lovely.

We were lucky enough to have the cottage to ourselves, the living room is lovely and cosy, Jayne had also left us some complimentary sherry which was a really nice touch. Through the French doors there is a beautiful garden which has a lovely stream at the bottom, it was nice getting to enjoy a glass of wine and stargaze in the evening and having afternoon tea during the day, it was so peaceful and felt like we’d really got away from it all.

Breakfast was lovely, there was a really good selection of cereals and also fresh fruit and yoghurt. The cooked breakfast was great!

We had a lovely time in Guilsfield and especially staying at the Red House Cottage B&B, I hope we can come back sometime soon!

We had an overnight stay here when attending a friend's birthday party. Everything about our stay was right with very attentive service from Jayne who runs it, Tea when we arrived, house and bedroom spotless and a faultless full English breakfast. All of this was topped off when Jayne came out to give us a lift back when we were let down by the taxi! Probably the best B and B we have stayed in!

We stayed here for one night when visiting some friends who lived in Welshpool before carrying on to visit relatives in North Wales so this made an ideal stopping point.

Red House Cottage is beautifully located in the village of Guilsfield not far at all from the church and within walking distance of the local pub (The Kings Arms).

On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Jayne and given fresh milk and a guided tour of the cottage which we had booked both rooms.

The cottage is immaculately clean and the rooms are very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The bathrooms are also spotlessly clean and it was perfect for our stopover.

We were given keys to come and go as we please and had a lovely evening in the village with our friends.

The following morning Jayne served us with a wonderful breakfast which comprised of cereals, fresh grapefruit and then a full cooked breakfast with locally sourced bacon and sausages. Delicious and et us on our way for the day ahead.

I can't recommend this place highly enough, we will definitely be back.

There was nothing about our stay that was average. From the rooms, grounds, little touches and hospitality: all was fantastic at great rates.

I stayed with my two children (9 & 13) and a friend. Kids loved the dog, trampoline and stream. I loved everything else. Jayne clearly takes great pride in what she does and the place was a great find for us. So much so, I will be very happy to take a detour to stay here on my next trip to Wales.

Every aspect of decor was high quality and breakfast was as we wanted with nothing too much bother. Sherry went down a treat and kids liked the collection of DVDs too. Happy days :)

We took over the cottage - two bedrooms- two couples. We were welcomed with a cup of tea by our friendly host Jayne that we drank in the wonderful garden with a stream at the bottom. We had our own key and could come and go as we pleased. The decor is beautiful. The breakfast was very tasty with good quality eggs, bacon and sausages. On the breakfast bar were bowls of strawberries, blueberries, cut pink grapefruit and cereals. What attention to detail. We even had a little sherry from the decanter before bed.

Room Tip: Both rooms are beautiful but one has a bigger bathroom -top of stairs on left. The other has a wider...

This is a great place to stay, the service is wonderful. The cottage is very easy to find and in a lovely location to visit Welshpool and Powis Castle. The Cottage is beautifully decorated and you are greeted with such a welcome like you are an old friend. The breakfast is wonderful with plenty of choice. I would recommend this bed and breakfast to any one.
