We had originally booked the hotel as a stopover on our way from the Provence to Germany, but it turned out to be a very comfortable refuge on the edge of the famous Mullerthal nature reserve.
We instantly loved the surroundings of the hotel and the amiable charme both of the very agile and friendly proprietress and the nostalgic design of our (as booked) small but clean and comfortable room and bathroom. Unlike us our friends who stayed in the adjacent room enjoyed the pleasures of a patio/balcony and of countless satellite tv programs (our tv set was small and served only a few commercial stations) whereas in our room not even the advertised internet access was available, but for one night we didn't even think about mentioning it to the manager.
We had expected a large variety of good local dishes for dinner but due to an emergency only one single four-course-meal was available, which we declined to have. How excellent the menu and the dishes might have been we only found out at breakfast time : local sausages and cheeses, accompanied by a choice of eggs, cerials, fruit, breads and cakes formed a gorgeous meal and made your beginning of the day a most splendid one.
In spite of the few disappointments we will surely come back.
