We stayed for one night, arriving just as it started to pour with rain. We were given a warm welcome, shown to our room (No. 5), and shown where everything was and how the lock worked. The room was very nicely decorated and furnished: modern and comfortable. The window between the bedroom and the bathroom was interesting, but there was a blind that could be pulled down so that using the toilet didn't become a spectator sport. Nice view of the Moselle too, and a nice balcony for use in better weather. We enjoyed dinner. There was the option of 'demi-pension', i.e. paying an extra €22,50 per person for a three course meal, which sounded nice enough, but we'd already spotted a couple of very nice-looking options on the main menu and decided to go a la carte, so the expense was our own doing. The restaurant itself was also very nicely decorated and felt both comfortable and elegant. We spoke sufficient French (and/or German) to get by with no problems, and the menu was also in English. Reviewers elsewhere have complained about the pillows (unusual, large and very squishy, but actually quite comfortable when you get used to them) and the noise of the road/railway. I can only assume those people had the window open, as the so-called noise was only what you would expect from a building built beside a road, and not a particularly busy road. It would have been louder with the window open. Our only slight gripe was the fact that the room got very warm during the night. We could have switched on the air conditioning, but it was a bit too noisy to sleep through. Opening the window would have been another option, but noise from outside might have occasionally disturbed us. In the end, we were just too tired to experiment, and just dealt with it. The illuminated logo on the TV was also rather bright. Had we been staying longer, we might have sought a solution for that, but it wasn't a real problem. Breakfast was also very nice - an assortment of bread and toppings, a soft-boiled egg, orange juice, tea/coffee, yoghurt, and the option of muesli/cereal, all served in the same attractive restaurant that we'd dined in the evening before. All in all, we were very pleased with the place, would go back again, and would recommend it.
