I was very excited to stay here - it's located in the picturesque village of Esch-Sur-Sure, right on the river. Although the website is basic and there were only a few reviews on Trip Advisor, I thought I would give it a chance based on location alone. Don't do this!!!
We arrived around 5pm and there was no one in reception. We rang the bell and still no one arrived. We looked around the hotel and could only find 2 guests enjoying a drink but no staff at all. Already disappointed by the decor when we first walked in (plus the smell of cigarettes at reception), we decided to see what other accommodation was on offer in the town. Unfortunately the two other options weren't great either, so we returned to Beau Site to try again.
This time, a woman was at reception. She took our key and showed us to the room we had chosen - Category IV - the best they had on offer. Yes, there was a balcony overlooking the river, but that was the only good thing about this room! Everything was really dated and looked as though it hasn't been renovated in at least 20 years. I don't even have the words to describe how awful it all looked!
Perhaps it would have been a comfortable place to sleep and perhaps the food would have made up for the poor decor, but we weren't willing to take the risk. At EUR 130 per night (plus another EUR 50 for half board), we decided to leave Esch-Sur-Sure and find accommodation in another town. When we returned to reception to return the key, there was again no one to be found!
My advice - go for a drink on the terrace but don't bother staying here. For this money you could find something much more suitable in a neighbouring village!
