“Lovely cottage in rural setting”
Reviewed 1 March 2015 for a stay in February 2015

A lovely well equipped cottage in a beautiful setting. Ideal for families and older people. Delightful cottage in lovely, safe surroundings at the foot of a castle- excellent to use as a base for exploring Wexford. The open fire kept us warm on cold evenings. Lots of space and tables for family to do all their own things. Anna was lovely with the children letting them feed their chickens (and giving us an egg a day) and donkeys.

“A Dream Come True!”
Reviewed 5 February 2015 for a stay in October 2014

This was not only an amazing property, but Anna and her mother were the surprise jewels! We had English tea together several mornings and they shared the history of the castle and family stories with me. Flowers on the table greeted me upon my arrival and made me smile every time I came back from my day trips.

This property, located in Wexford County, Ireland, and is within a short driving distance to shopping, restaurants, the beaches, and ferry service to the United Kingdom and France.

My childhood memories of princesses and castles has been fulfilled!

“Very Comfortable and Homely”
Reviewed 24 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Not only did we get to stay in this cozy cottage, but it was attached to a CASTLE. Jims tour of the castle was delightful and most amusing.

“Interesting, friendly and comfortable.”
Reviewed 19 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Very impressive property run by Anna, an extremely helpful and friendly owner. It was very relaxing and quiet. We all loved the character and location and my grandson especially loved the hens and donkeys. Our visit was only 4 days and would have loved to have spent longer.

“Peaceful, tranquil getaway”
Reviewed 24 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Myself and my family stayed at Butlerstown Castle in Tomhaggard during June 2013. We had a beautiful, peaceful time. It was a lovely switch off from our busy lives. My three year old daughter had the opportunity to feed the hens every morning and we walked up and down the very quiet lane ways. The farm animals were like pets and the children really enjoyed them. The quality of the accommodation was excellent. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable and quiet. We had a chance to take a tour of the old castle which was a great experience too. The owner was most welcoming and helpful.
Great memories and we hope to return to this little hidden gem.

“A First Class Stay”
Reviewed 10 August 2012 for a stay in August 2012

I have never written a review before but having many years experience of Self-Catered Holidays I have a lot to compare Boxwell Cottage with. The owner was extremely helpful and nothing appeared to be too much trouble. The cottage has been beautifully finished and the beds were extremely comfortable. The location is so peaceful and yet Wexford and Rosslare are close enough if needed. I would have no worries about recommending the cottage and when we return to Wexford - as I know we will - I know where we will stay .

Found this gem on the internet and decided to contact the owner for a short 4 day stay. This was no problem. On our arrival we were greeted by Anna (the owner) who showed us around and introduced 'Bono' her Jack Russell to our delighted 1 1/2 year old son. Each morning Anna would call to the cottage to see if our son would like to accompany her to feed the chickens and hens. Which of course he did daily. This is a wonderfully peaceful and historical place. It is ideal for a family getaway and pretty easy to get around to pubs, shops and to Wexford. I love this place and will return. Do not hesitate in any way in visiting this magical place.
