We stayed one night and had two rooms. The rooms were very clean and appeared newly decorated. We had an excellent breakfast and would definatley stay again. We will recommend to other family members.

A group of us stayed here for 2 nights. We all had an evening meal (all different) and we all agreed that the meals were very good. We were here for a family wedding which was the perfect spot as the church and reception were just across the road. The rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and hospitable. The breakfasts were excellent and set us up for the day! Overall, excellent value for money, we would certainly stay here again as it is a good spot for other attractions and places to visit around Cambridge area.

A large group of our close friends and family stayed at 'The Unicorn Inn' for a wedding one weekend in October and I must say that we had a fantastic time! The Unicorn's accomodation was brilliant, the rooms are basic but provide you with everything you need (Heating, Television, tea/coffee...) They have a nice, welcoming bar and restaurant which we made great use of on the Saturday night we were there! We had a few things off of the menu and couldn't find a fault in any of them, the portions are also very generous! The staff were extremely helpful and were always there to cater for your every need, the land lord and lady were also there on several occasions over the weekend which was nice to see!
Overall we had a lovely stay, all friends and family were happy with their rooms, the food/drink/accomodation was all reasonably priced and we had no problems at all! I'd recommend it to anyone!

The hotel is a seperate building linked to quite a good local pub. We received a good warm welcome at reception in the pub.

The rooms are small with a cheap standard of equipment / fittings throughout. The mattress, shower area, sink, TV and lack of draw space are good examples of this. We also noticed damp on one of the walls.

Our expectation for £75 a night is not sheer luxury but we expected something to mirror some of the price conscious hotel chains, which sadly The Unicorn did not.

Our party of 4 decided to eat in the hotels restaurant, which is in the pub, as the menu looked good. This was a big mistake. We arrived at 8.00 and waited until 10.00 to be served our main course. They did not have many of the items on the menu and when the food finally appeared we suspected it had probably been cooked in a microwave. We suspect the chef had gone home.

The staff were very apologetic but sadly our overall experience of the stay was poor.

I was blown away by how unutterably awful the service of this place is.

We booked a night's accommodation here for a wedding we were going to. We booked far in advance to be sure we had our accommodation sorted.

Some months later, about a month before our stay we got this incredibly badly written email:

"Unfortunately due to having trouble with our builders we will not be abale to accomadate you on the night the 24th of July so If this can be of any use to you there is a guest house just up the road from us it is called (AYAH VILLA) and there number is 01223 844 818. I hope this can be of use to you.
Thomas p "

We replied asking if there were any other options, and got this email:

"once again i apologise for the unconvenans caused but are unabble to suggest any thing other than our previous surrgeston
yours
thomas p"

It's funny, I find it so hard to imagine they would have problems with communicating with their builders when their subtle grasp of the complexities of the English language are so clearly finely honed.

If you want to be let down at the last minute by someone with the level of professional decorum of a 9 year old, book here. If you are looking for somewhere to treat you with any sort of intelligence, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

As part of our England touring we e-shopped for a place to stay near the War Museum at Duxford and choose the Unicorn. This B&B/pub was a real delight for us. The room was a good size for two adults, and the bathroom was huge, but for us the most enjoyable part was the Unicorn pub itself. The owners are very nice people, and the local patrons were very friendly and welcomed us to their table to share in a pint and stories. The pub food was great for supper, as was breakfast the next morning. We absolutely will stay here again the next time we're in the area and will unreservedly recommend if to friends. If I had to highlight one area for improvement, it would be to provide internet access in the rooms, but that's about it. A great place to stay!

We had a very enjoyable stay, the room was nice and clean, but was told the air con, wasn't working, but they had left a heater in the room for us, as it was very cold when we arrived we were also given a convector heater, hence the room was soon warm. When we moved the batteries in the remote control belonging to the air condtioning, it then started to work. The bathroom had a nice walk in shower and was clean. The only thing lacking was a mirror in the bedroom. We had an evening meal in the bar along with drinks and it was excellent value for money, and the meal was beautiful. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful, and wouldn't hesitate going to stay there again. Itn was only a couple of minutes away from the park and ride, so making Cambridge easily accessible.
