“The perfect B&B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014

For sure the best B&B we stayed during our 9 days trip. First of all the location is beautiful: the house is surrounded by farmlands. Secondly the room we had was wide, clean, recently furnished and with two big windows looking towards the fields. Thirdly the breakfast was excellent and generous. Finally the owners are extremely kind and disposable to provide any suggestions to visit Cambridge or the other historic places around there.

We have just returned from a weekend with friends and stayed at Harvest View. We were made extremely welcome and the rooms and breakfasts were wonderful. It was a very restful weekend and we wish we could have stayed longer.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and there was so much to do in Cambridge that we will definately return! Thank you very much.

We had a four night break at Harvest View recently. It is well positioned for a visit to Cambridge. The M11 motorway and a Park & Ride service are close by, but Harvest View nestles in a corner of Coton Village providing a calm and quiet retreat after a days sightseeing. The rooms, furniture and facilities are to a high standard. The breakfast menu offers a good choice, it is nicely cooked and well presented in a room overlooking a well manicured garden and farm land.
There was a slice of feshly baked cake in our room to welcome us back each day. Coton has an Inn and other villages nearby also have places for evening meals.
You will receive a warm welcome from Alyson who has a lot of local knowledge. This is helpful when planning a day out. An ideal B & B.

This lovely B & B set close to the M11 and very close to Cambridge was excellent. Comfortable well appointed rooms a splendid loungs and delightful breakfast room/conservatory where you could enjoy the local birds as they alighted on the bird feeder. We were very lucky with the weather but it would have been a splendid venue regardless with so much to do in the vicinity. National Trust properties, waterways to explore and obviously the attractions of Cambrige all within easy reach. Do yourself a favour and book a night or two here.

Beautiful bed and breakfast! The room was clean and very inviting, with fresh cakes on arrival and every day when we got back from our days out. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice, including a special each day. I can definitely recommend the tomato and mushroom omelette with bacon on the side! Alyson was extremely welcoming and informative with regards to places to visit. We will most certainly be back!

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 March 2014

We recently stayed three nights here on a long weekend break to Cambridge. As with all previous reviews we have nothing but praise for Alyson and her hospitality. Our room, the Garden View room, was clean and tidy with a very comfortable bed and an excellent ensuite shower room. We had everything we needed and even a few things we didn't but enjoyed......Alyson spoiled us, as other guests, with a homemade treat each day of cake and even one day, cream profiteroles instead of the usual wrapped biscuits for catering......a very nice surprise indeed and very much enjoyed! Breakfast always started with fresh fruit and yoghurt, cerals and juice followed with numerous choices for the full works English or variations of other hot breakfast choices. There was always a 'special' on offer each morning too if preferred. The location was perfect allowing us access to all we wanted to do either on foot, to the pub in the village or walking a dedicated footpath to Cambridge, or by car to other local places of interest. The National Trust property - the Wimpole Estate - is nearby and well worth a visit. Both Alyson and her husband, Vernon were lovely to chat with and we did enjoy our conversations with them. Alyson also gave us several suggestions of things to do while visiting and provided not only maps to guide our walking but also a flashlight to ensure we got back safely from our all day walk into Cambridge and then back long after the sun set and the moon came out. We very much enjoyed our visit to Cambridge and our stay in Coton and would definitely recommend Harvest View to anyone looking for a quiet country retreat with great hospitality. Thanks, Alyson! We hope to visit again in the future.

We stayed for two nights and could not have been happier. The location is incredibly convenient being only a few minutes drive from the park and ride which is an important attribute when visiting Cambridge, a pleasant walk in to the city is also an option. The accommodation is excellent; clean, comfortable and well laid out. Breakfasts were lovely and set us up for the day with plenty of choice and a daily 'special'. A particularly nice touch was the home baked cupcakes/biscuits in the room every evening. The owner is friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the city and local attractions. All in all, a perfect place to stay.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Harvest View is a small, friendly bed and breakfast situated 3 miles from Cambridge city centre. We opened in February 2011 and are a very popular place to stay. We have a double room with king sized bed, a double room with double bed and a single room. All our rooms are furnished to a high standard with en-suite shower rooms, flat screen TVs and tea and coffee making facilities. There is a varied breakfast menu which includes fresh fruit and Greek yoghurt, a selection of cereals, full English and continental breakfasts as well as a daily special. Breakfast is served in our beautiful orangery which offers open views across pretty farmland. In our first Food Hygiene Inspection by the local council (July 2012) we scored 5 stars = Excellent. We recognise the importance of environmental conservation and we endeavour to keep our impact on the environment to a minimum. We therefore operate a minimum 2 night stay policy to assist in reducing the level of detergents, water and energy used for laundry. Harvest View is the ideal Bed and Breakfast from which to explore the historic city of Cambridge. Walkers and cyclists will be in their element in our delightful countryside. We are well located for the University's West Cambridge site, Addenbrookes and Papworth Hospitals and the Cambridge Science Park. We look forward to welcoming you to Harvest View. ... more   less
